There are three Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita's in existence. Each wears a paint scheme of carbon fiber coated in diamond dust. There's one for sale in South Africa right now for $5 million. Dubai, your next ludicrous paint fad has arrived. More »

Remember the Christopher Walken skit on Saturday Night Live where the inveterate creepy guy continues asking Will Ferrell for more cowbell? Well the Koenigsegg CCXR Edition needs more carbon fiber. The rebodied CCX is positively rotten with the stuff and the twin turbocharged, E85 sipping 1018 HP heart makes us almost feel like this outshines the Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermes which sits just down the row. This car speaks to our inner 17-year-old like a like a prom queen on a bender. More »

The Dutch Blog on all things Auto has acquired themselves what appear to be the first renderings of the brand-new special edition Koenigsegg CCX-R. So what makes the already announced but as-of-yet unrevealed Koenigsegg-egg-egg-gg so special? Well — this here CCX is biofuel-powered. That's right — so that means this red-on-black Special Edition model featuring a cast-aluminium V8 engine with sequential multipoint fuel injection and twin rotrex centrifugal superchargers is not only pretending to be environmentally friendly, it's also a performance model — due to the biofuel having higher octane and cooling characteristics. That means the power on this Veyron-dethroning supercar's gone up to 1018 HP at 7200 rpm and the torque to 780 lb-ft at 6100 rpm — talk about a well-spiced Swedish meatball, right? On a side note, the Swedes would also like to point out the CCXR is the first homologated car currently in production to reach over 1000 BHP — not that they're braggarts or anything. Full flower-filled press release after the jump.

Oh dear. You know, their track record with ultra-exotic machinery really resembles mine and Davey's with women. To date, and including this one, they have trashed an Enzo, two 'nigseggs and of course the Vampire jet car. This time out the TG boys were in the one-of-a-kind CCXR, the Swedish supercar maker's new bio-fueled monster. Old Stigy had just finished hooning the beast and a Koenigsegg engineer was driving Top Gear staffer Peter Grunert to new location for a photo shoot. Apparently, the engineer had forgotten that just hours earlier they had detached the under-body venturi tunnel (to attach camera equipment). This, combined with taking a blind corner at over 120 mph, led the unnamed man to smash into the "largest traffic cone known to man." Which caused the right-front wheel to shatter, which caused them to spin into a ditch. Then, the CCXR bounced out of the ditch and performed four more spins before finally heading back into the same ditch. Grunert reports that the carbon fiber tub stayed "perfectly intact," and that the CCXR left 265 meters of skid marks. We like that last bit the best. – Jonny Lieberman More »
