For this Porsche there's a 2.3-inch chopped roof, wide-as-William Perry body, and raw carbon fiber body panels offset with a wide orange stripe. It looks like a prop for an especially awful science fiction movie.</p>

			<title><![CDATA[Techart Adds 660 HP GTstreetR To Porsche 911 Tuner Stable]]></title>

<p><img src="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/12/2008/10/340x_gt-street-r-top.jpg" class="left image340" width="340" />Tuner Techart, apparently inspired by Porsche's endless 911 iteration game, has released its GTstreetR version of the 911 Turbo. The new model slots between the company's 630 HP <a href="http://jalopnik.com/359649/techart-drops-the-top-on-630-hp-gtstreet-porsche-997-turbo-for-geneva">GTstreet</a> and 700 HP <a href="http://jalopnik.com/399120/700-hp-techart-gtstreet-rs-because-the-porsche-911-gt2-is-too-slow">GTstreetRS</a>, producing...you guessed it: 660 HP. The mods read like a laundry list of Teutonic speed parts, including new twin turbos, custom exhaust, special intercoolers and a custom coil-over suspension setup, all dressed up with scoopy bodywork said to add downforce. Of course, with stats like 3.4 seconds to 62 and a top speed of 215 MPH, who are we to be skeptics?<br>

<p><img src="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/12/2008/07/340x_TechArt_GTStreet_RS.jpg" class="left image340" width="340" />Porsche tuner TechArt has created the GTstreet RS, a hardcore version of the already-insane 630 HP <a href="http://jalopnik.com/359649/techart-drops-the-top-on-630-hp-gtstreet-porsche-997-turbo-for-geneva">GTstreet</a>. Even though the current 530 HP Porsche 911 GT2 is the fastest production 911 ever, some people just want more. So, the GTstreet RS takes a standard GT2 and applies horsepower, resulting in a 700 HP monster complete with cartoon body kit. Another obscene tuner-job Porsche? Yep, but there's no way we'd turn down a drive in one. Full details in the press release below the jump.<br>

<blockquote>TECHART Automobildesign GmbH presents its cutting-edge TECHART GTstreet RS, based on the Porsche 911 GT2 (997), with an impressive best time of 1.06:811 minutes on the short course of the Hockenheim circuit.
<p>Since 2001, TECHART GTstreet vehicles have been among the fastest and highest performance sports cars in the world. This high performance is reflected in the GTstreet RS's statistics - 700 PS and 515 KW - with a maximum torque of 860 Nm. This power is achieved through the use of modified turbochargers, enlarged carbon inlet pipes, specially developed intercoolers, a sports flap exhaust combined with high-performance headers, modified pressure sensor and a sports air filter. The GTstreet model demonstrates a high level of performance in the wind tunnel: with a downforce of 10 kilos on the front and rear axles at a speed of 140 km/h.</p>
<p>GT RS front apron is fitted with a carbon splitter. A special air duct has been constructed to enable the cool air to pass directly behind the radiator and over the newly created air outlet thereby reducing the buoyant force on the front axle considerably. Side carbon flics support this effect in that they increase the downforce considerably by acting as a counterpart. All of the sporty basics are featured, creating a sporty appearance and fast model with its aero-bonnet, headlight shades, mirror shades, GT sill panels and carbon roof spoiler. The GT rear spoiler is particularly striking with its carbon winglets and gurney flaps. The GT RS rear apron with carbon diffuser, air outlet and carbon air wings complete the programme for this club sports car.</p>
<p>The performance of the GTstreet RS is also reflected in the chassis. With its TECHART Formula III forged rims and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Plus tyres, the GTstreet RS offers drivers the maximum performance for a street-worthy sports car. The impressive 1.06,811 min. lap time on the short Hockenheim course emphasises yet again the GTstreet RS's ambitions on becoming one of the fastest sports cars in the world. The special TECHART threaded chassis is also available for the GTstreet RS.</p>
<p>From coloured decorative stitching to complete leather furnishings in the colour of your choice or decorative components in various materials such as carbon or piano lacquer, TECHART offers a virtually endless range of possibilities to meet all tastes in furnishings. 			<title><![CDATA[Lewis Hamilton Does Los Angeles In A Techart Porsche]]></title>

<p><img src="http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/12/2008/05/340x_Lewis_Hamilton_Porsche_Techart.jpg" class="left image340" width="340" />Having been <a href="http://jalopnik.com/cars/racing-news/lewis-hamilton-banned-from-driving-in-france-should-rent-schumachers-taxi-335149.php">banned from driving in France</a>, other than when he's winning at Monaco, F1 phenom Lewis Hamilton set his sights on Los Angeles, where the girls are pretty and the cars are fast. Or is it the other way around? Either way, Mr. Hamilton is apparently in town and driving around the city in a loaner Techart 997 hardtop. Since this is Los Angeles, we're a bit surprised it wasn't a <a href="http://jalopnik.com/359649/techart-drops-the-top-on-630-hp-gtstreet-porsche-997-turbo-for-geneva">Techart 997 Cabrio</a>, but we're sure no one is complaining. The folks over at <em>Autofiends</em> are worried he'll get pulled over and, because he's not Junior, won't be recognized. Our advice? Just tell the cops you're Alfonso Ribeiro. <p><em>Functionality and aesthetics are two inseparable components at TECHART Automobildesign. The 3.6 litre Boxer engine is modified in many details at TECHART. The elegant front spoiler of the Aerokit I merges seamlessly with the forms of the bumper and conveys already at first glance pure sportiness. The lowered rear diffuser with additional, lateral air outlets and the entirely redesigned wing profile of the extendable rear spoiler complete the inimitable exterior.</em></p>

Independent Aerokit II front and rear aprons perfect direction of the air masses for an improved inflow of the brakes and the intercooler. <p><em>The electronically adjustable PASM shock absorption system in the new TECHART Turbo Cabriolet is further equipped with the TECHART VarioPlus threaded chassis. This frame not only permits the option of an individually adjustable lowering by up to 25 millimetres, but also the selection of shock absorber settings between "normal" and "sport" at the push of a button in the cockpit. But while driving, one is not restricted to these pre-settings. When driving in a sporting fashion, suspension in both levels automatically gets tighter. This achieves the optimum symbiosis between excellent comfort in normal driving and agile, direct handling when driving fast into the curve.</em></p>

<p><em>The globally renowned enhancer TECHART Automobildesign is presenting an extensive technology programme at the IAA 2007 with a brand new individualisation programme for the TECHART SUV on the basis of the Cayenne (model 2008).</em></p>
<p><em>Through the Aerodynamic Kit I, the TECHART SUV is given its perfectly formed line with an unmistakable recognition value. The front spoiler, sill panels and rear diffuser have been revised and lend the TECHART SUV its sporting and elegant look. All chassis parts are manufactured as first fit made of PUR-RIM plastic. The sporty off and on-road vehicle thus receives the dynamic line of the Cayenne Facelift.</em></p>
<p><em>The TECHART Sport Module provides the option of lowering the SUV chassis by an impressive 30 millimetres - which simplifies road use and makes it more attractive. The entire adjustment range from the load level to the special terrain level is roughly 110 millimetres.</em></p>
<p><em>As an option, the TECHART SUV on the basis of the Cayenne Turbo can be ordered with a performance of up to 620 hp / 456 KW. A carbon cover and individually modified painting of various engine parts round off the engine optic package for this automobile highlight. <p>Poreche tuning haus TechArt is rolling out its latest GTstreet &mdash; a concoction first mixed in 2001 with the 996-series 911 Turbo. The new 997 version has been tweaked to 630 horsepower (from 480) via twin VTG turbochargers and intercoolers, new performance air box and manifolds and a stainless-steel sport exhaust system with high-performance catalysts, all managed by a remapped ECU. A wind-tunnel-tested aero kit, including retractable carbon-fiber splitter, adds stability at the double century mark. TechArt claims a zero-to-60 time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 214 mph. The next evolutionary stage of this fascinating concept celebrates is now available: The new TechArt GTstreet, based on the 911 Turbo of the latest 997 series, starts at 245,000 Euros MSRP.</em></p>
<p><em>Like the predecessor the new GTstreet edition centers on a powerful engine: The 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat engine is modified by the TechArt engine specialists and now develops 630 hp / 463 kW at 6,800 rpm, up from standard 480 hp / 353 kW. Peak torque increases from 620 Nm to 820 Nm at 4,500 rpm.</em></p>
<p><em>The TechArt TA 097/T3 engine conversion comprises two special VTG turbochargers, a new air box with sport air filter, high-performance manifolds, intercoolers and a stainless-steel sport exhaust system with high-performance catalysts. The precise optimal interaction of all modifications is ensured by a newly programmed engine management system.</em></p>

<p><em>The body kit for the TechArt GTstreet was created in the wind tunnel, and offers an optimal symbiosis of aerodynamic downforce, minimized drag and striking design.</em></p>
<p><em>The front fascia of the GTstreet with retractable carbon-fiber splitter produces downforce on the front axle and provides radiator, oil coolers and brakes with more cooling air, thanks to its large, striking air inlets. The auxiliary headlamp units with daytime running lights and fog lamps improve active safety. They also give the car even more passing clout.</em></p>
<p><em>The TechArt GTstreet fender flares on the front axle add 10 mm to the two-door's width and give it an even more dynamic appearance. But that's not all: The air outlets behind the front wheel houses optimize brake venting. The larger air ducts in the rear sidewalls provide engine and intercoolers with a larger supply of cooling air. For an optimal transition between front and rear fenders the TechArt designers have developed rocker panels that complement the new contours. TechArt mirror and headlamp moldings provide the finishing touches.</em></p>
<p><em><br>
The TechArt roof spoiler extends the roofline and optimizes airflow to the adjustable rear airfoil of the GTstreet.</em></p>
<p><em>The TechArt GTstreet rear fascia with integrated carbon-fiber diffuser contributes to the strong downforce generated on the rear axle. It also provides the perfect backdrop for the quad exhaust of the TechArt high-performance exhaust system.</em></p>
<p><em>TechArt Automobildesign offers a number of versions of its popular Formula wheel in sizes 8.5Jx20 in front and 12Jx20 on the rear axle. GTstreet buyers can choose from several color combinations and between the one-piece Formula and the multi-piece Formula II designs. The Formula II wheel features an exchangeable wheel lip. For optimal tires TechArt chose ContiSportContact 3 high-performance tires in sizes 245/30 ZR 20 and 325/25 ZR 20.</em></p>
<p><em>The large 20-inch wheels also provide the necessary space for the especially powerful and durable TechArt high-performance brake system. It features six-piston aluminum fixed calipers and 390-millimeter discs on the front axle. The rear axle is fitted with 365-millimeter discs and four-piston fixed calipers.</em></p>
<p><em>The TechArt GTstreet comes with a TechArt VarioPlus coil-over suspension that is based on the electronically adjustable PASM damping system of the 911 Turbo. This chassis allows individual ride-height lowering by up to 25 millimeters and push-button selection of two different damper settings, "Normal" or "Sport." However, the dampers are not limited to these presets. Sporty driving automatically results in firmer damper settings in both modes, thus combining excellent ride comfort during normal driving with agile and responsive handling during fast cornering.</em></p>
<p><em>The cockpit of the TechArt GTstreet also differs distinctly from the stock 911 Turbo. Among the differences is an exclusive leather interior with color-contrasted stitching and sporty CarboBlack highlights. The coupe is further equipped with an ergonomically shaped TechArt sport steering wheel, aluminum foot pedals, foot rest and shifter, as well as with illuminated door sills sporting the TechArt logo.</em></p>

The parts have been found in the Techart garage. four people are in jail, two leasing-managers of porsche, and two customers. Porsche now sues Techart for theft, Techart says they bought the stuff with a bill and thought everything was ok, but found out, that the engine wasn´t the promised 997 Turbo engine, but something else (they were fascinated), so they gave it back to the dealer, and it was found there. <p>The UK's <i>Daily Mail</i> is reporting, with typical Fleet Street flair, that the Cepuljoski family has forgiven Gumball 3000 participant Nicholas Morley, who as y'all likely recall, crashed into a MkII Golf driven by Vladimir Cepuljoski that had pulled out in front of his TechArt Porsche 911, resulting in the death of Cepuljoski and his wife. According to a statement released by the family during Morley's trial:</p>
<blockquote>"We ask this court to release young Nicholas. It was ill-fate that made our son and father make that fatal mistake and join the main road without stopping his vehicle. We have experienced a terrible tragedy, but we feel that it would be another tragedy to keep this young man in prison. We think he has suffered enough and his conviction would offer no comfort to our grief."</blockquote>

			<title><![CDATA[TechArt's Porsche GTstreet Coming to Geneva]]></title>

<p>It was just a matter of time before <a href="http://www.techart.de/">TechArt</a> unveiled its take on the new 997 Porsche 911 Turbo. That day will arrive next month, when the GTstreet takes a bow at the Geneva show. And compared to the company's last iteration, the bar has been lifted in an upward fashion. TechArt boosted horsepower to 630 from the Turbo's stock 480, and sent the torque number skyward to 604 lbs-ft from 457. TechArt says that's good for a zero-to-62 mph time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 214 mph. It's completed with a functional body kit (one would hope) and according to a teaser sketch, the show car will sport a paint job inspired by some manner of Halloween fantasy. 			<title><![CDATA[Car Hack's Notebook: Reporting on Porsches from the Essen Show]]></title>

<p>At a show where pure lunacy struggles to get through the door, it was always going to be tough to pick out a star, but that's the job and ignoring the more obvious option here it is: The Mission 400 Plus. Now why this modified Porsche above the countless others that littered the show? Well how's about the basic figures of 1,069 hp and 921 lb-ft of torque achieved with the delicate act of strapping two dirty great turbos to the 3.8-liter 997 engine for a start?</p>

<p>The 997 Carrera S's aerodynamics have been totally revised with a new roof, shallow-raked screen and smoothed just about everything. It works in the wind-tunnel, but that is all for now and the men behind the project were surprisingly candid when they admitted the road testing will be a whole new world and there's no guarantee that it will work at all.</p>
<p>J rgen Alzen Motorsport is responsible, though, and they know a thing or two about Porsche tuning, racing and everything that goes with it. I would be willing to break the journalistic bank and lay five bucks on this machine hitting Nardo or even Bonneville Salt Flats like a whirlwind at some point and both are already being considered for the run that 9ff has already proven can be done. So has this group, as attested to by the 216 mph, 600bhp+ Audi A4 sitting next to the Mission 400 Plus.</p>

If they can make it work, and keep it on the road long enough to break the magic 400 km/h mark, then the Bugatti Veyron had better watch its back, literally, as this is lighter, cheaper and infinitely more fun. There's that sneaking suspicion it will take the bends about as well as a fast-surfacing scuba diver, but who really cares when a car is this insanely fast.</p>
<p>Cargraphic's 4-liter GT3 RSC, meanwhile, is all ready to go. Resplendent in wasp-style warning colors, this lightweight leviathan is sure to continue the company's near violent reputation when it comes to high performance through natural aspiration. This is a company that produced a 420 hp car that held station with 650 hp GT2s at the recent Tuner Grand Prix. And the 997 variant should be even better.</p>
<p>So with a refined aerodynamics kit, new suspension, lightweight wheels and a dollop of extra horsepower, the company should have a hit on its hands and rivals will not be happy when this car comes to defend the 996's crown at subsequent Tuner Grands Prix at Hockenheim.</p>
<p>Michael and Thomas Schnarr have mastered the GT3 like no other and have learned to bring out its natural character with flashes of color rather than the broad strokes of the brush some tuners just cannot resist &mdash; sometimes to the detriment of the end product.</p>
<p>I would include TechArt in that list, but then the truly mad TechArt Widebody kind of makes up for anything that happened before. This is the Leonberg firm's second crack at the mid-engined instant classic after the Cayman GT that won serious praise from some serious places. This one is 8mm wider for improved cooling and aero work, and will be a better car. So forget the fact that it's only marginally more subtle than Russian-bound Sushi, it's going to be almighty.</p>

<p>TechArt's engineers felt the need to fit a 3.8-liter powerplant from the Carrera S and then still weren't happy, so they bored it out some more. The new capacity of 3.843 litres is still some way short of 9ff's 4.1-liter monster, but then this may just be a useable every day road car, if you can handle the attention.</p>
<p>If not, just floor it, as this beast will get to 62mph in less than 3.5s and roar through the gears, although Porsche's gearing means it simply will not go faster than 190mph in any tuners' hands, for now anyway. The Cayman is not about eye-blistering terminal velocities, though, it's all down to the cornering. With the inevitable slip diff that comes with that much power and fully adjustable suspension, TechArt may finally have unlocked the true potential of this gem from Zuffenhausen.</p>

<p>Autumn is barely here, and tuned Porsche 911 Turbos are flying out of Germany's tuning shops like Oktoberfest waitresses from business school. The latest is from TechArt, though its tweaks are confined to a wind-tunnel-tested body kit the company says accomplishes three design goals: The rear spoiler optimizes the effect of the retractable production rear spoiler, the roof spoiler visually stretches the roofline, and the side sills give the coupe a longer, sleeker look. Other kit includes Formula five-spoke 19" or 20" wheels, the TechArt VarioPlus coil-over suspension and interior accessories. Fooling with the powertrain is likely the next step, though not on the menu yet.</p>

Porsche twiddlers, TechArt worked up a metallic-orange, carbon-fiber'd beast of the erstwhile Porsche Carrera GT. The eyeball-straining color is offset by exposed carbon-fiber body components, while an added front spoiler creeps ever closer to the tarmac. That'll help control the ever-so-much more lift created by a horsepower boost to 635 hp by way of a new air intake and performance exhaust. Inside, there's a sport steering wheel with leather/carbon fiber rim and a shifter made from exposed carbon fiber. Buyers willing to futz with their GTs can also choose from a range of colors and upholstery options. We'd go with the llama skin and antelope-hoof accents. That's how we roll. <p>We criticized the techies at Porsche tuning haus TechArt when their first engine kit for the Cayman S yielded only 15 hp over the stock model's 295 hp. Now, they've shot back with a full-on tuner turnkey Cayman S tuner, the TechArt GTsport. At a price of 115,000 Euros ($146,900), TechArt will deliver this, particularly juiced coupe, sporting the typical boxer six bored to 3.8-liters and pushing out 385 hp, via new cams a modified intake and stainless-steel high-po exhaust. It's also got an aero kit, TechArt Formula five-spoke billet wheels and coil-over suspension kit. Zero to 60 in 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 177 mph is the result. It's a hefty price to pay for a mid-engined 911, but many see the upside in such a scenario.</p>

Now, German tuning house TechArt's ready with the main event: the engine kit. And the envelope please: 310 hp, wrought by a sport air filter and reprogrammed engine electronics. (The 3.6-liter six in the stock model produces 295 hp). C'mon guys, no one gets out of bed for under 400 these days.</p>

<p>No one loves a widebody more than German tuning house TechArt, except maybe Sir-Mix-a-Lot (look it up, kids). With a nod to its previous extra-girthed Boxster and 911 Carrera kits, the company developed a similar body kit for the newest 987 model roadster. Axle add-ons, fender flares and 235/30 ZR 20s in the front and 305/25 ZR 20s in the rear serve to increase the base Boxster's track by eight centimeters. Ahead of the posterior flares, a set of intakes improve airflow to the engine, and up front a new spoiler &mdash; with intakes of its own to improve front-brake cooling &mdash; reduces lift at the front axle. TechArt's adjustable sport suspension is tuned for ultra-wide wheels and lowers the roadster by 25 millimeters. A moderate horsepower upgrade (15hp) is a matter of one of TechArt's engine kits including an upgraded air filter and tweaked engine software.</p>

<p>Porsche tuning house TechArt introduced a tuning package for the 2006 Porsche Cayman &mdash; the first such package we've seen (so far) &mdash; at the Essen motor show this past weekend. For now, the Cayman setup only includes a body kit, one-piece wheels and a sport exhaust. Suspension and engine kits are in the works, and will be available until next year. It's like the preview of an action movie, only without that huge release-date graphic that fades in at the end after it gets all quiet.</p>

			<title><![CDATA[TechArt Builds Police Porsche to Promote Safe Tuning]]></title>

<p>German tuning house, TechArt &mdash; along with a Germany-wide association of business and community leaders &mdash; is promoting safe tuning by building a Porsche 911 Police Cruiser decked out with a package of speed and aerodynamics toys. The message is TUNE IT! SAFE!, which implies a trend toward irresponsible car tuning using illegal products and cheap knockoffs of speed equipment, causing unsafe roadway conditions. The "cruiser" (so far, we doubt any Polizei are out cruising in it yet) is fitted with TechArt's Power Kit TA 097/S1, which mainly includes engine computer tweaks, pushing horsepower to a municipally responsible 370hp. 			<title><![CDATA[TechArt Porsche Cayenne Headed to Frankfurt]]></title>

<p>The lab-coated wonders at German tuning house, TechArt, announced they're bringing a new 600hp Cayenne, the Magnum, to Frankfurt next week. With its 637 ft-lbs. of torque, the SUV can do some serious damage to the city of auto-show fame, say, by dragging Hamburger Allee up over the Senckenberganlage. Either that, or just by propelling the Porsche to 62mph in 4.5 seconds, and on to a top speed of 181mph &mdash; despite it having the aerodynamic profile of a bag of laundry. How did they do it? The short answer involves twin turbochargers the size of jet engines, a high-performance intercooler, a decidedly un-stock intake manifold and a reprogrammed engine management system. The long answer will likely be told in a week or so.</p>
