This is the first skech of Lexus' "premium compact concept" for the Frankfurt Motor Show, which appears to be a hatchback or wagon with the family nose applied to the front. We're fairly sure this isn't a TopGear.com prank.

Down on the Street...in Tokyo: The Chevy MW Is The Opel Agila

As we continue to clean out our CompactFlash cards, we've found another piece of metal from the Tokyo streets. Here's the perfect example of a city car produced by the General that they just don't build or sell over in this here part of the globe. This five-door 'merican Revolution is the Chevy MW, and it's a re-badged Vauxhall Agila which is a re-badged Opel Agila which in turn is a re-badged Suzuki Wagon R. As a Suzuki, the MW was first built in Japan, but now in all forms is built at GM's Gliwice, Poland plant. Speaking of the Opelized version, did we mention the second-generation 2008 Opel Agila was unveiled in Frankfurt earlier this year? Oh wait, we've found some shots of the reveal of that one on our many CF cards as well. The newest model of the Agila will be powered by either one of two gas engines — a three cylinder 1.0-liter 65 HP model and a four cylinder 1.2-liter engine rated at 86 HP — and a diesel 1.3-liter four cylinder engine rated at 75 HP. Will the new 2008 Agila have as many re-branded options as the earlier models? You betcha. The General's already planning for the new Agila to be sold by Suzuki as the Splash. Frankfurt Auto Show: Frankfurter at Last!

They rolled out more vendor carts at this non-presse day of the big show. At last we found what we think was a frankfurter. For a mere three euros we scored Paar Würstchen mit senf und Brötchen or what was also listed on the menu as Frankfurter Art. One pair sausages, Frankfurt style - with roll. The mustard was applied mit dispenser. No ketchup was poured.

Here you go kids, it's your brand-saving entry from Shag-you-are, the XF. Yeah, it's not as hot as the XF Concept, even though Mr. Cullum promised it would be. Still, this cat's got some good curves on her, even going so far as aping Aston's DB9 from behind. Dare we say that perhaps we were a bit too hasty in our initial verdict? Or does everything look simply snazzy under 17 coats of wax, professional lighting and 50 gallons of none-more-black paint? And have we shown you the interior? Frankfurt Auto Show: Dodge Journey

From the I think it might be a minivan department comes the Dodge Journey. After seeing a surprising number of Chrysler minivans on the roads here in Frankfurt, we can see the appeal a space wagon equipped with a 2.0L turbodiesel from the Dodge might have for the European market. David and Danya changed outfits magically while metallic confetti distracted everybody temporarily, from noticing the Journey had appeared! Steve Perry was not on hand to belt out Don't Stop Believing, and thankfully there was no vocal laxative effect.

Frankfurt Auto Show: Audi RS6 Avant in White

While we knew the Audi Audi RS6 Avant was coming, we had no idea Bryan Adams was going to belt out an acoustic rendition of Run to You after the cover was pulled on the V10 twin-turbo wagon. As the rest of the presentation was in German the details are still hazy. We do know the world needs more hopped up sportwagons now more than ever. An A4 and A8 were also kicking around coverless. This is the walkway between Hall 1.0 and Hall 3.0 here in Frankfurt at the Messe. We don't know why they're named like software. But we certainly appreciate the moving walkways. Even so, there's like ten halls here. Or maybe it's 10.0 halls. Whatevs — our dogs are killin' us. More »

Frankfurt Auto Show: Suzuki Kizashi Concept Car

As we told you a few weeks ago, Suzuki's got themselves a concept car here at the Frankfurt Auto Show and it's called the Kizashi. We don't know much else about it mostly because we can't seem to find a press release on it, but it looks kinda sweet, don't it? The one thing we do know is that according to MoneyControl India, which may be a website about controling the world's banks, India's banks or just about personal finance — they think it's going to be built and Suzuki will be sending a lot of them over to the land of the big Tata. We're here live at the official reveal for the Volkswagen Up! concept car which we've been told is being sold by VW as "like a new Beetle" with it's projected 67 MPG or higher fuel economy rating. Frankfurt Auto Show: Saab 21st Century Black Turbo X

As we knew they would from the leaked embargo shots of the other day, GM's Saab just revealed a heap of new vehicles including the new Saab Turbo X, with a design the General's hoping will evoke images the iconic appeal of its first black 900 Turbo. The 2.8 V6 Turbo with 280 horses gives the Turbo X a 0-100 kph in 5.7 seconds. Sorry about a couple of pictures — some guy named "Bob" kept getting in the way of my shot. Frankfurt Auto Show: Genuine Saab Turbo X

The born from jets crowd over at Trollhattan Saab report the car previously known as black turbo will officially bring the spirit of the original 900 turbo in line with a modern haldex awd system and 280 hp engine. An automatic transmission will also be available to channel power to the ground from the hair dryer. The Turbo X is expected to go on sale in early 2008, with a collectible 2000 or so cars completing the total run. Frankfurt Auto Show: Citroen XM Exclusive Down on the Straße

This Citroen XM Exclusive caught our jet-lagged eye on our way down to the river, where we also caught a glimpse of das boot. The 5-door XM packed a 3.0L 24-Valve DOHC V-6 or 2.5 TD turbo set atop Citroen's signature nitrogen springing - also known as Hydractive suspension. The computer-controlled liquid suspension has a compliance six times greater than suspensions made of schteel, and is driver adjustable. Had things gone better for this descendant of the mighty Citroen DS, a great deal more mechanics would be troubleshooting hydraulics instead of replacing the occasional strut. We're still looking for a good frankfurter.

Renault Laguna Concept To Drop At Frankfurt Auto Show

The paint's barely dry on the new 2008 Laguna and the fancy-schmancy boys at Renault are already hard at work trying to come up with a new Laguna. Apparently the wee little lads who work under Carlos Ghosn have come up with a concept Laguna we'll be seeing live this next week at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Already we're liking what we're seeing in the very Mercury Cougar-esque look of the exterior of the concept car, but as far as the interior, what's that big honkin' knob-like thing in the center of the dash for? Frankfurt Auto Show Reveal For New Ford Kuga Crossover

Here's the first details and non-sketch shots of the new Ford Kuga crossover — which we already told you we'd be seeing first hand at the Frankfurt Auto Show next week. The people carrier inspired by the Iosis-X Concept revealed last year at the Paris Auto Show will hit the streets officially in early 2008. The Kuga will come in both a FWD and 4WD and although specific powertrain details won't be released until closer to the 2008 launch of the car-UV, it will definitely include the 2.0-liter Duratorg TDCi CRD engine we've already seen at the premium end of the Euro Ford Focus line and in the Ford Mondeo. We'll see it live and in-person at the Frankfurt Show, so hopefully we'll have some more info for you on it then. But even if we don't, fear not — we won't be seeing it stateside anyway. More »

A Pre-Frankfurt Auto Show Unveiling For The Audi RS6 Avant!

Because our good friend Zerin hearts us, we've got you some shots of the new Audi RS6 Avant speed wagon well before it's unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Don't say we didn't pass all 580 hp (maybe even more than 600 according to some sources) of that love right on to ya from the RS6 Avant's V10 Twin Turbo TFSI engine. Fiat Grande Punto Abarth "essesse" (Super Sport) Coming To 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show

Fiat's given the Grande Punto Abarth a bit of a conceptual upgrade for the Frankfurt Auto Show with the Grande Punto Abarth Super Sport prototype concept car. They're calling it the "essesse," but with upgrades including a booster kit that almost doubles its power output from the standard Grande Punto Abarth — up to 180 horses — we're calling it pretty frickin' neat. Hyundai's Hydrogen Powered i-Blue Concept Revealed Before Frankfurt Auto Show

Our friends from down under at Motor Authority have the scoop on what looks to be a concept car Hyundai's planning on officially revealing at the Frankfurt Auto Show in a couple of weeks. It's called the i-Blue and it's apparently a hydrogen powered concept crossover that's supposedly also using Hyundai's new third-gen fuel cell tech. Huh...we didn't even know about the first two. Over The Back Fence: Audi To Reveal RS6 At Frankfurt Auto Show?

We just got the official Audi press release for the Frankfurt Auto Show, which like all the automakers pre-show releases reads like they're teasing us with a tease of the press conference. Meaning that they're cryptic and although in this case we're told Audi's world premiering two new — somethings — they're not telling us what they are. Now, we know one of them's the new Audi A4, which we've already seen revealed on the interwebs. But what's the other one? We're hearing from a source who heard it from a source at Audi of America that it'll be the new Audi RS6 that's rumored to be running with 600 horses. Nissan Micra Colour + Concept Revealed

With the first one already out the door, Nissan's now released info for their second concept for the Frankfurt Auto Show. It's called the Nissan Micra Colour +. Yes, that's right, this Nissan Design Europe designed concept's got a "+" sign at the end of the name — for what reason, we're just not sure. In addition to the plus-effect, it also looks like it's nothing more than a P-shop animation — maybe that's because of the two-tone Liquid Metal gold paint effect that contrasts with the three coat pearlescent white finish on the car's flanks. Is This The First Look At The Mitsubishi Concept-cX?

Jeez, the embargo leaks just keep showering upon us like Manna from heaven. We're being told by the Frenchie folks at Caradisiac that the shot over there on the left's the first non-sketch image of Mitsubishi's Frankfurt Auto Show concept, the Concept-cX. If you'll remember, we showed you the sketches of Mitsu's latest concept car late last month and as you can see — if this shot's for real — it looks like they've dropped the new Lancer's front end on to a standard swoop-roof CUV. It's a good thing it's got that Evo X front end as the concept employs the same new 1.8-liter clean turbodiesel engine hooked to Mitsubishi's electronically controlled 4WD system and new Twin Clutch SSG (sport shift transmission) that'll be available in the Evo X. Audi A4 Embargo Leakage Continues Ahead Of Frankfurt Auto Show Reveal

The boys at Motor Authority apparently decided the leak of the first shot that went live yesterday of the newly redesigned Audi A4 constituted enough of an embargo break for them to just go live with a whole mess o' photos and a load of details. These shenanigans with the Audi A4 provide yet another example of the type of embargo policy issues we spoke of yesterday.
