Teasing us once again, F1-LIve is reporting that Formula One racing may return to the United States, absent here since they closed up shop and left after the 2007 Red Bull US Grand Prix. In fact, when we lost the Canadian Grand Prix, North America lost all Formula One races. But if the buzz is to be believed, they may have auctioned off that Ford GT a little too soon. More »

While we'll be awaiting the results of an election tomorrow, certain Canadians will be awaiting the results of the auction of a Ford GT used as a pace car during various Canadian Champ Car races. As there are no more Champ Car races, and with the Canadian F1 Grand Prix gone, there's not much more for the pace car to do. There won't be any F1 races at all on the continent of North America next year — the first time that's happened since 1957. Lacking a race to lead (okay, there is still Indy) the car is now on the block for certain Canadian customers. This is a chance to pick up a rare version of an already rare car. Canuck F1 fans today are mourning the loss of the Canadian Grand Prix from the 2009 Formula One schedule, said to be the result of "contractual problems" between the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and F1 management. The Canadian GP already dodged a bullet back in 2004 when the race was supposed to be dropped due to the loss of tobacco advertising, but funds were scraped up and the show went on. Oh, if you're wondering, the decision was in no way influenced by Robert Kubica's spectaular crash in 2007. More »

Following in the footstops of Daddy Hamilton, Lewis had an unfortunate accident at the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend. Apparently missing the red light as he exited pit row, Hamilton rear-ended Kim Raikkonen just 17 laps into the race. With two of the sport's best drivers out, BMW's Robert Kubica won his first Formula One event, becoming the first Polish driver to do so.
