Somewhere outside of Atlanta, there is a Corvette with a trailer hitch towing a mini-Vette. Drivers beware, as its intense cuteness could lead to dangerous distraction, crashes, or the overwhelming desire to get one yourself. More »

By 1990 the malaise era was long over and you were able to walk into a car dealership and purchase a variety of different vehicles with legitimate performance potential. Although many cars of the 1990s have since been overshadowed by the more potent vehicles offered in the 2000s, the decade had it's share of great cars. A 6-speed manual-equipped wagon that's big enough to hold all your enfants terrible, gets 34 mpg (US) and has hydropneumatic suspension? Of course it's not sold here. But the folks over at Popular Mechanics did get the chance to test a 2008 Citroën C5 during a rainy English holiday, discovering that the big Frenchie demonstrates "supreme competence in areas that most owners appreciate most often." That's not even the worst part. Even with the plummeting dollar, their optioned-out Exclusive model retails for the equivalent of $42,700. Suddenly, that 2009 Ford Flex doesn't seem like such a bargain, does it? No mention of the Citroen C5's patented Très Difficile seating system though. More »

The new Citroen C5 Touring is by all rights a big time traveler: comfy seats, a really nice panoramic skylight, all the modern luxury accoutrements, sleek styling if you're into the French thing, and plenty of toting space. The Achilles heel of the car is the folding seats, though. When the fronts seats are positioned for a 6'-tall driver, things get tough when you want to transform to full-capacity mode. The bottom cushion sort of lifts up, rotates over a bar and then does a face plant behind the front seat in a vertical position. The next step is the seat backs. <a href="http://jalopnik.com/364068/citroen-c5-touring-must-be-french-for-hard-to-fold-seats" title="Click here to read more about Citroen C5 Touring Must Be French For "Hard To Fold Seats"">More »

How embarrassing. Sinclair's next big thing in the 80's, the Sinclair C5, can be serviced alongside your vacuum cleaner (wonder if this service promise holds up for the jet powered version). Something tells us that nobody with any kind of marketing skills was involved in this ad. 'Hey, let's associate our funny shaped, dangerously slow electric vehicles with an appliance that sucks! Capital idea chaps, well done.' Maybe the ads weren't as misguided as we imagine, considering the C5 sold as many as 17,500 of the little death machines. Still, if the Daily Telegraph's take on the the C5 is to be believed, the tiny trike really did suck... More »

The beans continue to spill on the custom and project cars we'll be seeing first hand this week at the SEMA show. The latest batch of over-baked legumes are these shots of Factory Five Racing's GTM show kit car. If you'll remember, the current GTM's a factory kit car built with bits and pieces of late model '97 to 2004 C5 Corvettes and then packed into a new shell built by FFR. Did we mention it's also got a Porsche gear box? Right — an LS1 or LS6 engine mated to a Porsche transmission. We're not exactly sure what he's done to this particular GTM, as FFR's only is saying that it's "packed with killer upgrades like paddle shifter, carbon fiber details and a complete custom interior..." Yes, but what kind of killer upgrades and what kind of carbon fiber details and what kind of...OK, you get the picture. We do however know the details on the original FFR GTM, so we can use that as a starting point. We guess we'll have to wait until show time to see it ourselves. Just as expected, the new Citroën C5 is a close as twins to the C5 Airscape Concept Citroën showed off in Frankfurt this year. That means it's both better looking and less distinctive than previous-generation models. Some might be tempted to describe the latters' distinctiveness as bare-buttocks ugly, though others call it brand DNA. Tamping down its avant-garde roots, Citroën's embued the new C5 with some modern clichés, like an ascending side crease such as that of the BMW 3 Series. In fact, from the imagery, it's as if the company sent its entire creative staff to Germany to gorge on blutwurst until any evidence of French idiosyncrasy evaporated in a cloud of porcine AB-negative. When it comes to car design, let's be careful what we wish for, shall we? More »

Oh, you thought you were done with the hybrid Citröen C5 Airscape concept? Not even close, Johnny. Following last week's leak, Citröen's now releasing details on the car that hearkens the company's next C5. A flurry of adjectives accompany the release, including sophisticated, elegant, powerful and exclusive. As mentioned previously, it uses the company's UrbanHybrid system, which prevents noise and vibration when the engine stops and boosts engine torque when needed. But wait, there's more. Much, much more. What might a Citroën C5 look like as a diesel hybrid with a hardtop cabrio roof? That fictional animal is reflected the C5 Airscape concept, PSA's entry in the Frankfurt auto show style sweepstakes. The concept moves the C5 upscale, with swank appointments from the Citroën design HQ, along with a showcase diesel-electric powertrain dubbed UrbanHybrid. It also hearkens the newly redesigned C5, slated to get a longer wheelbase and more upscale position. We'll see if that arrives in Frankfurt as well. More »

Nope, it's not some literal interpretation of "Need for Speed Underground"; it's a manner of automotive graveyard, which police in Denver unearthed yesterday. Acting on an anonymous tip, authorities found the remains of a stolen C5 Corvette (pictured) and a Mercury Mountaineer. Both had been stripped for parts. Forensic teams are combing the area with a metal detector to see if any other treasures might also have been buried. In other news, Jimmy Hoffa may still be <a href="down there. More »
