You may have missed the Bowler Nemesis in last week's <del>Page Three spread</del> Motor Storms Pacific Rift story, but now you certainly can't miss it. Bowler Racing's announced plans to build a road-going version of the off-road racer for public consumption. Pegging the bottom line of the Land Rover-inspired beast around the $190,000 mark, the Nemesis GT4 will be equipped with a 4.2 liter, 500 HP supercharged Jaguar V8 hooked to an automatic gearbox, two or four Recaro bucket seats, climate control and a suspension slightly detuned from the desert running original. If you want one, better snap to it as there will only be fifty a year and most are destined for where else but the middle east. More »

We don't know who Keeley Hazell is or why we should know, but apparently she's somewhat attractive and pitching for Playstation 3's new off-roading game Motorstorm Pacific Rim. We've played its predecessor Motor Storm before and it's pretty entertaining, but we couldn't tell you for sure if the Bowler Offroading Land Rover Nemesis is featured in the new game as weakly as it is in these pics. Pity too, as the purpose-built desert racer comes with a tube chassis, twin-tex and carbon fiber body, 4.2-liter supercharged V8 and six-speed transmission. Oh well. Guess that's the price you pay for a little Friday cheesecake. Motorstorm Pacific Rift hits stores tomorrow. More »

Land Rover on the Range: Driving the Bowler Nemesis

What would happen if you took the running gear from a Range Rover Sport, crossed it with the running gear from a Land Rover Defender? You'd get the off-road rallying version of a Land Rover Sport. It's a vehicle that reminds us of the Range Stormer of 2004 concept, only with less pretense and more actual gruntability. It's the product of Bowler Off-Road, an off-road racing manufacturer from Derbyshire, best known for its Wildcat off-road rally car, which won the privateer category in the past two Dakar Rallies. The two-seater shares 40 percent of its parts with the Range Rover Sport, but is is shorter and lower, and rides on a purpose-built spaceframe chassis. The body is but a shell of glass-reinforced polyurethane. Under the bonnet (that's hood), there's the familiar 4.2-liter V8, converted to run on E85 bio-ethanol, computer-remapped to achieve 510 horsepower, instead of the stock 385. It's a Dakar bargain at £120,000, and the company says a roadgoing version is on the way. Lock up your cactuses.
