Bentley's got a brand new member of the Bentley Arnage gang hitting the streets at the LA Auto Show later this month. It's called the 2009 Bentley Azure T. The new drop-top Bentley gets the same 500 bhp V8 under the hood of the Brooklands coupe and the Arnage Final Series, so this special edition won't be seeing a power boost in this new edition. Responding to the shot fired by Rolls-Royce with its 101EX concept coupe, Bentley will show a design study of an Arnage-based coupe at the Geneva show next year, Automotive News is reporting today. The concept car, dubbed "Havana," could hearken a flagship two-door, which would be a fixed-roof counterpart to the new convertible. With all the rumors of new entries all over the ultra-luxury spectrum, we wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this one ended up bombing down a Corniche near you in a couple of years. – Mike Spinelli More »

The Bentley Azure is going to be big. No wait, it already is. And just in case you thought Bentley was still a British brand, its German masters chose Frankfurt to unveil their Lord Humongous two-door drop-top. To be fair, the Azure is based on the anglophile's favorite flying brick, the Arnage, whose twin-turbo V8 has ten times the sonic character of the Continental's equally thirsty, Volkswagen-sourced W12. And the Azure's hi-tech body stiffening (carbon fiber under-floor cross braces) are sure to take the rag top's ride and refinement to undreamed of levels. Not that fans of rap videos will notice...
