I'm not saying a straight man can't drive a non-retro Volkswagen Beetle, I'm just saying I don't know any who do. The Associated Press headline writers, inadvertently, do seem to be saying this.

The underlying point in this AP article about the need for VW to expand its offering to men is sound and one we've made ourselves about the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle. The old one is for girls. This new one, maybe, is not a "chick car."

I just think we did a better job of making that point.
