We reported last month on a new, diesel-powered military concept vehicle, developed at Georgia Tech's Research Institute, that's one among armored truck concepts proposed to replace the aging Humvee. The Ultra AP showcases technologies developed for current military purposes, like mitigating the continuing threat of destruction from improvised explosive devices (IEDs). What's more, the concept's development could cross pollinate with new e-safety systems for roadcars, like night-driving assistance, and stability control and radar-based avoidance systems, not to mention new structures to heighten impact and rollover protection.
