Hyundai Reveals V8-powered Neos III Concept in Tokyo

hyundai_neos3.jpg

Hyundai's Neos III, the third in a series of crossover concepts the Korean automaker has shown in Tokyo, is standard-issue prototype material — wind-tunnel-tested design, sci-fi interior with trackball controller. But wait, that's a 4.6-liter V8 tucked inside those bird-like folds. No hybrid-driven, fuel-cell e-powered enviro-wagon, this. Turns out, the Neos II is Hyundai's vision of a new, all-wheel-drive entry in the almost-SUV horsepower wars. It''s also the first concept to sport the new V8 that will likely show up in the next-generation, larger Santa Fe in the US. That might be like showing up with brownies at a party where everyone's already passed out. We'll see.
