Peugeot promises to reveal the full name of its "RC..." concept car at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, along with a few more details about the just-announced concept. So what do we know? It's designed to be a technical showcase, a hybrid with 313 HP (though it's unknown if that's combined IC and electric), and it looks vaguely like a Dodge Intrepid, sporting 4 doors and, according to the company, 4 seats. There even appears to be a Maxima-like longitudinal moonroof. And, in an ominous sign for the design, Peugeot actually refers to the car as the "missing link," albeit between its RC show cars of 2002 and the 908 RC from the 2006 Paris Motor Show. We're starting to get the hang of this Web posting thing, so let's try another. How about one on the Peugeot 908 RC concept, which the company unveiled today. It's a stunning Maybach beater in luscious piano-black lacquer, and the showcase vehicle for the company's 5.5-liter LeMans-ready V12 TDI diesel engine (watch out, Audi), which produces 700 Hp and 885 lbs.-ft of torque. Peugeot's 908 RC prototype, which was conceived and rendered at the company's design center in Paris, will be unveiled fittingly enough at the Paris show in September. Considering its high-concept design, we imagine the heavily accented oohing and aahing at the press event will be palpable (as will, we hope, the free p t en cro te and a nice little something from the Bordeaux region). As is de rigueur for the pew-gots, they've released tons of sketches and whatnot related to the designers' motivation for and execution of such expressive linearity and curvaturearity of the sheetmetal.
