Riding a motorcycle on ice is normally reserved for Swedes and Finns — and other citizens of the Vodka Belt — riding four-stroke Jawas on frozen lakes with studded tires, in between swigs of akvavit, chilled by trackside. At least, that's how I picture it.

But encountering ice-covered track can also be a hazard of adventure touring. For the season finale of RideApart, Jamie Robinson takes off to the Colorado Rockies on a KTM 990 Adventure with little more than a Butler map and a thirst for American adventure.

What he finds is some amazing scenery, some challenging logging roads, a crackling fire, and a few "oh shit" moments on his way to motorcycling nirvana.
