How Do You Spot Another Gearhead In Real Life?

The Internet makes it easy to identify yourself by your preferences. You can "like" Fords on Facebook, retweet Audi's official account incessantly, and post pics of your Oldmobile V8-powered Chevy truck in #oppo. But how do you do the same in real life? How do you spot another gearhead?

This comes from a conversation I had with Patrick George yesterday as we were walking away from the Inauguration and marveling over the kinds of random cars only truly afflicted gearheads find interesting.

As a test, I devised a question: Isn't it a shame what they're doing with Lancia?

If you can understand and answer that question, you're a car person.
