The Ferrari F40 is quite possibly the ultimate Ferrari ever built. But that's according to the mainstream automotive media with their handouts from big automakers.
What does publicly funded MotorWeek think? For a reasonable test of this epic car, MotorWeek had to eschew the backroads of Maryland and head to Italy to play in Ferrari's backyard.
There they found that the F40 isn't super luxurious like a GT car, but is also really really fast. Unfortunately, their testing equipment didn't make the journey, so comprehensive braking tests weren't performed.
However, potential buyers should rest assured that the F40 is "pretty adept at using friction to turn speed into harmless heat."
Enough from me. Watch the F40 drive around Italy and listen to John Davis talk about the car, which is far better than actually hearing the car.
MotorWeek Theater is our showcase of some of our favorite classic reviews from public television's finest motoring program. How does this video only have 5,526 views on YouTube? It's motoring perfection.
