This Is What A Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Looks Like When It's Upside Down In A Chinese Pond

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: Just because you can afford a powerful and fancy car doesn't mean you have the skills to drive one.

The latest proof of this comes to us from Liupanshui, China, where the driver of a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG apparently lost control of his car, hit the curb, and then went flying into a nearby pond, according to GT Spirit.

Click over to their website to see more photos. They say they don't have many details about the crash, but they say the driver fortunately managed to escape alive. Turns out the gull winged SLS AMG has a mechanism that blows the hinges off the doors in situations like this, allowing occupants to get out in an emergency.

I guess there are worse cars to flip over, then.
