A 1967 Camaro? Gee, never seen one of those before. And yet, this pro-touring '68, a bro-mage to the old TransAm racecars of the late '60s, captures the purity of the '68's pony-car design, while adding modern updates like mega-wide rubber and a 600-hp LS7.

This week on Big Muscle, Mike Musto profiles this creation of JCG Restorations of Oxnard, CA. Aside from looking really cool — and receiving a comprehensive resto-mod treatment that includes a billet gauge cluster, among other custom parts — it's also been battle-tested by some of the best autocrossers on the West coast. The point was to show up its pro-touring muscle-car competitors at the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational.

Ok, so it's called Blue Ballz. Two out of three ain't bad.
