Lots of things make America great: apple pie, baseball, a flawless criminal justice system that never ever makes mistakes, and, according to this TV ad, the Mazda Miata.
This ad for the first generation Miata is so wholesome it feels like the car is running for office. It's full of phrases like "hope, faith and future" juxtaposed with idyllic images of suburbia.
Clearly, Mazda is going for nostalgia appeal here, trying to get potential buyers to remember "a simpler time" when people drove roadsters (presumably of the British variety) and played sports outside instead of video games.
It's a little cheesy, but it does a good job of showing off the Miata's timeless qualities. Plus, I don't know about you, but I'd vote for the Miata over a lot of politicians if I could.
