Overly serious car nerds can criticize games like Super Mario Kart for not being "authentic" or "representational of actual physics in any way," but sometimes life imitates art. The crash-bang-boom Australian Grand Prix this year doesn't look very different done up like the Nintendo classic.

The people at WTF1 put this video together a while ago, but it was taken down for violating Formula One's copyright when we last tried to post it. It's up now, so enjoy.

We'll also point out that in the wake of his crash with Hamilton at Valencia, people are saying that the featured racer Pastor Maldonado drives like he's in a video game. It makes this vid surprisingly appropriate.
