Commuter culture is killing car culture. Traffic makes driving into a chore. Why do we persist in jamming up the highway in our own little transportation cubes?
Ultimately, we could all just pile into one large transportation cube and get to the same place, but no one does it. No one wants to give up their own A/C, radio, or privacy. We would love to see someone invent buses with their own little compartments so everyone could relax on their own, but that would take a lot of work and money.
What would have to change for you to carpool, ride the bus, or train, or whatever? If you do, why do you choose to?
