If you're ready for the latest iteration of Ford's meanest truck, the time has come. The 2013 F-150 SVT Raptor has arrived.
Complete with all the bells and whistles available with other top end Ford trucks — stuff like SYNC with MyFord Touch and high intensity discharge lamps — Raptor customers will be able to get beadlock capable wheels and big block power.
A truck like Raptor doesn't entertain being clad in effete color schemes, so Ford's paint gurus have dressed the offroad muscle truck in bold hues, such as Race Red, Blue Flame Metallic, Tuxedo Black Metallic, Ingot Silver Metallic, Oxford White and a new desert camouflage-esque color called Terrain.
Seekers of meek trucks need not look in the Raptor's corner of the world. It's built for trail thrashing, and comes with Ford's 411 hp 6.2-liter V8, churning 434 lb.-ft. of torque through an electronic six-speed automatic transmission. The transfer case can switch power to all four wheels on the fly. Both axles feature a 4.10:1 ratio, the rear with an electronic locking differential.
Other than that, it remains as badass as previous Raptor models. It still has the grille mounted camera for low speed offroad visibility, triple bypass Fox racing shocks, and a Torsen front differential.
If you want a truck, but are afraid you'll feel like a hillbilly inside of one, Ford offers the F-150 Limited. It sports leather seats, fancy computers, shiny 22s, heated power mirrors, a moonroof, and a rear-facing camera. But the luxury minded truck buyer can also opt for the more economical 365 hp 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, which, which Ford says will get up to 22 mpg.
