You Can Own A Le Mans Prototype For Just $2 Million

Cancel the order for the Veyron and put your money on this Monza, Spa, Barcelona, Interlagos, and Silverstone-winning 2007 Peugeot 908 HDi FAP. RM Auctions lists it at a reasonable $1,981,600 - $2,378,000 (1.5m - 1.8m Euros). Is it worth it?

For your money you get a car with a twin-turbo 5.5 liter diesel V12 capable of putting out over 700 horsepower and 885 lb-ft of torque. That motor is housed in a car that weighs roughly 2,050 pounds (930kg). Oh, and you get a sequential six-speed ‘box to play with as well.

It will be the first 908 HDi FAP to go into private hands, but money isn't enough to enjoy the car. RM Auctions point out,

Starting and running this vehicle calls for specific equipment, third-party software licenses and skills. The seller commits to providing the necessary technical support for a period of three years. This service will be provided at Peugeot Sport's normal rates for technical support.

Sure, it's ludicrously expensive and you can only drive it on a track and you need a team of engineers to get it running, but what price can you put on making your Forza dreams real?
