What Do You Need In A Well-Equipped Garage?

Having a garage with a proper set of tools and conveniences is almost as important as having something to park there. A well-kept car is a happy car, and especially if it's a classic it needs its own place. Aside from the obvious structural necessities, what makes for a garage that makes your car feel at home?

Let's get one thing out first: A garage is a place for cars. The multi-use character of too many garages is a serious hit to the experience; it's hard to stand back and admire your work (or maneuver that engine lift) if you're constantly rubbing against yard tools and recycling bins and rusty bicycles. A good garage has purity of purpose. You don't have to be all Jim Glickenhaus about everything, but a proper space is a valuable asset. Once that is understood, it is time to equip it correctly.
