According to the smarmy Triumph driver in this vintage advertisement a 1971 TR6 was practical for all sorts of reasons.

It had great visibility for spotting random women and was very maneuverable once you decided to chase said chosen random woman through a parking lot. The TR6 also only had room for two once you talked the parking lot woman into the car which wasn't only conveniently creepy—it was practical.

We're not sure who Triumph thought their buyers were in the 1970s, but this isn't the first vintage advertisement we've seen that hasn't shown them in the most positive light. We'd love to see the marketing research behind these ads—"It appears our buyers are young bow tie wearing males with motorcycle riding parents who enjoy aggressively chasing random attractive women and laughing in the face of practicality behind the wheel of slow British sports cars"
