This isn't some video game replay, this is eight minutes of onboard footage of the Audi R18 TDi that won the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans. We can tell you how quiet diesel Le Mans prototypes are and how low they rev, but you really just have to hear one for yourself.

Even though this is the winning No. 2 Audi of Tréluyer, Lotterer and Fässler, this isn't footage from any race. This is a test drive from the long-running French magazine AUTOhebdo. We don't know who they know at Audi, but the two must be pretty close, as the magazine also had twelve minutes of seat time with Audi's previous diesel prototype, the R15. You watch that car blast around the Paul Ricard circuit in the south of France and you can't even hear the engine over the wind.
