Cadillac plotting new small convertible

After only tepid responses to the XLR and before that the Allante, Cadillac appears ready to try again with a modern convertible, this time one with its own unique bodywork.

According to Car & Driver, the new 'vert would slot between the upcoming ATS small sedan and the refreshed CTS, with GM choosing a fabric top and selling it as a stand-alone model rather than as a variation of either. It's not expected until 2013; if you can't wait, there's always this custom-chopped 2009 CTS sedan on eBay, with just 10,630 miles. Yours for only $50,000
