Chef Grant Achatz built one of America's best restaurants on his talents with molecular gastronomy. After battling back from tongue cancer, his friends decided to give him a special gift: the 1970 Pontiac GTO he'd restored as a teenager.
As the video made by Nick Kokonas, Achatz's co-author on the new book "Life, on the Line" explains, Achatz rebuilt the GTO with his father, but lost track of the car over the years. To see what the car looked like when Achatz went outside in Chicago last night, go here. And if you get a chance, and the seat, and the money, you can try the olive oil lollipops at Alinea. Thanks, Andrew!
