This is the BMW wagon we're pining for

Each time we've passed by the B5 BiTurbo Touring, the Alpina-tuned 5 Series wagon, here at Geneva, we've let out a little whimper. And why shouldn't we? With a 507 HP and 516 lb-ft o' torque BMW twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 powerplant under the hood, it's hard for your pants not to tighten when you see this power wagon.

The only stopping point is the ZF slushbox handling all that power. We'd prefer a manny tranny, but beggars can't be choosers.

Especially as we're never going to get it here in the United States — despite the fact Alpina does have the B7 sedan here — until BMW gets it through their Teutonic skulls that they should disregard 'merica consumer preferences and bring the 5 Series wagon to this great nation of ours. Until that day, all we can do is whimper.

Whimper with us as you flip through the images in the gallery above.
