After police attempted to pull over a Pontiac Sunfire Saturday, its driver, Christine Stroh, decided to resolve the situation by fleeing on icy roads, then hurling herself from the car at 30mph into a tree, leaving her two passengers inside.
North Dakota highway patrol say Stroh, 21, then hid in a thicket of trees, and attempted to run barefoot before falling on ice and being apprehended. The passengers in the Sunfire told police they were "scared for their lives and screaming for her to stop."
Stroh now faces charges of driving while impaired after hitting 0.177 percent on the blood-alcohol fun meter. That would be her second DUI in two years, and records show her license was still suspended from the prior charge. Hat tip to Middleswine!
