Audi has explored the possibility of adding a four-door sedan body style to the A3 range since time immemorial. Or at least for the past year or two. Yesterday the German automaker all about "aluminum und shteel" basically officially confirmed it, releasing the first official sketches of this A3 Concept ahead of its world premiere at next week's Geneva Motor Show.
The concept's main purpose is to preview both the four-door variant and a new styling direction for the next A3, set for a rollout in 2012 and includes successors to the current three-door hatchback, five-door Sportback and the two-door convertible models.
The A3 concept measures 14.57 feet long, 6.04 feet wide and 4.56 feet high. That means it's just slightly smaller than the new Volkswagen Jetta.
But the best news? The concept car's fitted with a new-and-improved 408 HP 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo currently found under the hood of the current RS3 and TT RS models.
Do want. Even if it's just for that engine. We can't help ourselves. It's sexy as hell.
