Chrysler unveiled the 2011 Jeep Compass yesterday, revealing a 3/5ths scale Grand Cherokee with numerous updates to its poorly received predecessor driving on heavily photomanipulated roads. Maybe if you squint all the time it'll look like a real off-roader.
The updated soft-roader gets reworked metal front and rear, a cladding strip and the now-standard Chrysler corporate interior makeover. The engine lineup and transmissions remain the same, with a small bump in mileage to 23/29 mpg city/highway for those who want to stir four small pots by hand; there's also the excitement of a CVT available.
