Mounties Sell Speeders' Cars For $306K

After catching two men street racing a 2008 Ferrari 430 and a BMW M6, Canadian Mounties enforced a law letting them seize and sell speeders' vehicles. Which they did, for a $306,000 gain. That's a lot of horse feed.

The men were caught doing 125 mph on a residential road zoned for 37 mph on Sept. 27 in North Vancouver, British Columbia. The sales will net just under $100,000 for the Mounties; the rest will be split among the owners and their bank loans. A spokesman for the Mounties says the laws "work to take vehicles away from reckless drivers before they hurt someone, because they are demonstrating no regard for the safety of themselves or others on our roads." (H/T to Danny and Jung!)
