Toyota Bought Back Cars That Accelerated Unintentionally

Toyota bought back at least two cars in 2009 after dealer technicians reported unintended acceleration that couldn't be diagnosed, according to new filings in a class-action lawsuit.

The buy-backs included strict confidentiality agreements barring consumers from disclosing the problem to anyone and from suing the automaker, according to the amended class-action complaint.

Toyota says those two vehicles showed no unreported defects after thousands of testing miles. [AP]
