Welcome to Down On The Street, where we admire old vehicles found parked on the streets of the Island That Rust Forgot: Alameda, California. Another visitor to Alameda's downtown makes it into Down On The Street.

I was on my way to watch the A's get damn-near-no-hit by Phil Hughes and stopped at my favorite island taqueria to grab a chile verde burrito… and look what was parked out front! I hung around for a few minutes, hoping the owner would show up and I could ask about the car's history, but no dice. Is it a genuine 440 Six-Pack R/T that gets a lot of street time? Who can say? I'm just glad it sees asphalt outside of car shows.

This is our third Alameda Challenger in this series, after this extremely clean '70 and this extremely mean '73, and it appears to be a slightly rough but basically solid example of what Challengers looked like before they weighed more than two tons.
