This seaplane, abandoned for almost fifty years alongside the Gulf of Aqaba in Saudi Arabia, is a PBY-5A Catalina, a military American seaplane from the 1930s, sits at that critical intersection of cool between Planelopnik and Crash Week.

The PBY-5A was bought from the US Navy by Thomas W Kendall, a retired businessman who converted it to a luxury flying yacht. Fly through our gallery of the abandoned seaplane below and then hop on over to ArtificialOwl to find out what happened to it during the spring of 1960.
