These are the exclusive first images of the production-intent Peapod Mobility, straight off the assembly line, before it goes to paint. The economy may be gloomy, but we're glad to see the Mobility's still smiley.

The Peapod Mobility features an all-electric drive, four-passenger capacity and a 30-mile-range with a blistering top speed of 25 MPH. What seems to be new on the bulbous little car is the addition of a retainer in the grinnin' grille it has. Instead of a vast expanse of blackness, it seems the stylists have added a body-colored grille insert. Otherwise, the front styling remains largely unchanged. Orders will begin to be taken for their green-bean starting on Earth Day (gag) with delivery scheduled for Fall 2009.
