Trailblazer, Envoy, 9-7X Death Date Accelerated To December 23We knew the end of the line was near for the GMT360 siblings, but now the Detroit News reports the national economic collapse has accelerated GM's plans to kill off the Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy and Saab 9-7X mid-size SUVs. The Moraine, Ohio plant that builds the old-skool body-on-frame trucks was down to one shift after originally being slated for shutdown in 2010, then early 2009. Now word comes from the General that the remaining 1,100 Moraine workers will be out of a job December 23, just in time to celebrate a holly, jolly Christmas. Word has it GM even said no to a $56 million tax credit and grant package from the state of Ohio to keep the plant running, preferring instead to forget this whole SUV thing ever happened.
