Many people couldn't give a shit about cars. Why? They just don't know what they're missing. Jalopnik readers have a plan to set that straight.

Welcome back to Answers of the Day - our daily Jalopnik feature where we take the best ten responses from the previous day's Question of the Day and shine it up to show off. It's by you and for you, the Jalopnik readers. Enjoy!

So here's the idea. We get every last person in America to drive these ten vehicles. Everyone. They won't complain because we'll tell them they'll be driving expensive sports cars and a Ferrari. What this should all do is give people a taste of what we love. Driving cars. Working on cars. Building cars.

Beyond that, this dream project has higher ambitions. Driving these cars (and learning how to use stick in the process) should make people more aware, competent drivers. And they should give drivers of new cars respect for the older, worn out beaters on the road. In this dream scenario, the roads would be safer. Faster, too.

Think it's a crazy plan? Let us know if you think it'd never work or if we picked the wrong cars in Kinja below.

Ten Cars Everyone Should Be Forced To Drive

10.) Jaguar E-Type

Everyone should drive a V12 sometime in their life. An open-topped British sports car isn't a bad way to check that one off.

9.) Any Ferrari

Prancing horse on the front, engine in the middle and an open-gated manual at hand. How does a 355 sound?

8.) A Model T

Everyone should understand what it really feels like to engage with a car and to understand it as a large, complicated, and dangerous machine. Nothing will get that across like a pre-WWI car, and the Model T in particular.

7.) A Pickup

I'm not going to say that everyone driving a full-size pickup is going to clear up the discord between upper and lower classes here in America, or make the urban coasts feel closer to the rural flyover states, but it couldn't hurt, could it?

6.) An Eighteen Wheeler

Reader POD says that in a closed environment, these things are actually hilariously fun to drive. On top of that, it should give everyone some more respect for truckers on the highways.

5.) A Kart

If everyone learned how to kart when they were kids, our highways would probably be a lot safer.

4.) A Real Jeep

There are two things Americans should get to know better: the great outdoors and what a real SUV is like. Getting people to offroad in a CJ or a YJ would hit those two birds with one stone.

3.) A Big Block Stingray

Everyone should know what it feelslike to be pressed back into their seat by a truly excessive amount of V8 power. A classic big block Corvette would do that nicely.

2.) OG Mini

Assuming that everyone could fit into one of these things, an original Issigonis Mini would teach people that you can have fun in a small, economical, practical, slow car. you don't have to put up with penalty box Corollas and Sentras. There is a better way.

1.) A Prepped Miata

If there's one car that's going to teach people the zen and joys of driving, it's a light, direct sports car. What better than a stripped, prepped Miata?
