We've all been champing at the bit to get another good look at the 2010 Chevy Camaro, which has been mostly uncovered already. But no one has real production shots like these, which are purported to be shots of them producing the 2010 Camaro from someone who got access to the production facility. Those look like Camaros to us. Come on, the robots can't keep their hands off of them. Thanks to J for passing them along

So what you are saying is robots = dragons?
Whoever took those pics should already be worried about their job because they work for GM..... now they should REALLY be worried.
Nothing would ever come between the Fanuc robots end effector and its forbidden love of the Camaro.

You can sometimes see them drive on the grounds of Plant #1 in Oshawa, I'm told.
some GM executive must be really annoyed that they scheduled "Bring Your Camera To Work Day" on the same day they were putting the new Camaros down the line...
Sooooo.... does this mean it's going to be a 2009 now, ....again? If they're pressing them out now, doesn't that mean they'll be ready for October? Or does this mean that they'll be out in January or February as a 2010 model? I'm so confused.....I don't think I even want the damn car now.
@WillTheThrill3: Probably popping out some more finalized pre-production cars?
All hail the Camaro...
The first American built Camaro in, how long?
So that's the line the next Monaro/2dr G8 will come down. An American made Aussie car. The mind boggles
Yes! They kept the rear wheel ridge/vent/airpocket/air dam thingies!
Cool, can I get one in raw silver like that?
@WillTheThrill3: As long as my parents don't have to drive it up from the Bahamas, I won't mind.
The proportions of the unibody look great! Maybe it's just the ride height that makes it look stubby on the road?
@TRAMS_AM: I think it's the lack of those big slab sided front fenders.
Bitchin
@Mad_Science: No no no.
"Bitchen Camaro"
Oh man, are my smartass remarks about the lateness of the Camaro coming to an end? Ah well, I got a lot of mileage out of those. Plus, the sucker's STILL not out.
Looks like a robot fuck fest...all we need now is Max Mosely and some Nazi armbands on those robotic arms
Super robot fondle potential!
Ugly car. But at least there was chomping, not champing. Maybe nothing but twisted bits will emerge from the factory.
@theeastbaykid: It's been said before & it's still true. Release. the. car. already. The fanboys and first responders won't care, but I truly believe GM will suffer from this drawn out process when it comes to other buyers.
@tenbeers: you're so right
It looks amazing in raw steel without the tumor of a front end on it. I hate how even the new Acura and Maxima are just getting these taller and fatter front ends. Nothing says aerodynamic like a brick with fog lights.
@LandofMinos: Has it been established that the Camaro will be built in America? I thought it was coming out of Oshawa (which would make sense, the guy who submitted these lives about a half hour away).
Still, I want to be one of those robots right now.
@vr6john: "robot fuck fest" Truer words were never spoken... Hell, I don't think those words have *ever* been spoken.
@Maymar: Oshawa it is. Canada built Camaro, not American.
Maybe they are just running assembly line tests or making a 'limited run' for the next Transformers movie which is scheduled to start filming soon. There's no way GM is going to let Hollywood destroy that 1/4 mil prototype and no chance of Michael Bay avoiding the destruction of one this time around.
Then again maybe they're planning on a mid year release.
Just be sure to watch these robots. You all remember GM's robots have been known to take drastic measures when they're having problems. . .

"As part of its deal with the CAW, GM pledged new investment for its Oshawa facilities to support planned vehicle launches, including the upcoming Camaro muscle car and a still-to-be announced rear-wheel drive vehicle."
As reported Tuesday, May 20, 2008 . . . [www.washingtonpost.com]
@shades_of_blue: I do believe that's what the site said, calibrating the robots for production.
@WillTheThrill3
They're planning on early 2009 (likely February). These are production prototypes, most likely. They aren't destined for sale and will remain in GM's test fleet. Production prototypes generally start rolling off the line about 6 months before full production ramp-up. So, they're right on schedule.
A: "What do you do?"
B: "I work at the Oshawa plant. I stick the giant fat ass onto the Camaro."
eh, those robots will be on the picket line in six weeks tops.
also: photoshopped.
@Number_Six: You forgot to append "Robot" before "A" and "B."
@Ray Wert: Yeah, it was lazy snark.
Robot pr0n FTW!!!
"Spot weld me now!! And there! And there! Yes, dammit, YES!!!"
@shades_of_blue: i'm pretty sure the Camaro from last year's Transformers movie was a rebodied GTO ... no reason they couldn't just do that again.
@DoctorNine: I am now slowly stepping away from the computer...
Not one human in sight. It looks like a Ford plant on Christmas morning ...or any work day. Maybe SkyNet was contracted to build these Transformer's props?
Let me get this out of the way:
"I for one welcome our metallic Canadian overlords."
Who's Leon?
@Novaload: The cute one on the left.
Looks like all the murderers are closer to getting their offical car back.. no more 2nd hand van for them.
@Maymar: Is Oshawa in Canada? Oh well still in North America.
Yeah forget the car, I'd much rather have one of those robots in the garage. I wonder if they can make one that transforms into a Camaro? Best of both worlds!
I got my yosemite sam mud flaps on order.
Actually this is how the new Camaros are made:
@no_slushbox: So would the new Camaro cum with a small towel?
mullets rejoice for your savior has returned
made in canada eh! the only other large American icon made in canada would be william shatner.
wonder if the cup holders will fit a large tim hortons double double.

@LandofMinos: Oshawa is pretty much the bogan capital of Canada.
