The power-hungry BMW-lovers at M3Post have caught the 2009/2010 BMW M3 Sedan out for a stroll, and it looks like the next model year of the BMW M3's getting a bit of a rear-end lift with some color, some lines and yes, some new taillights to match what we've been told to expect on the next 3-Series sedan. Other than the butt-lift on the four-door, don't expect a whole lot of other changes for the next M3. Well, other than that "Space Gray" paint job.

Those taillights and rear end are absolutely horrible. They make the M6's butt look sexy.
Hmm I didn't notice the masking tape untill now.
I'm not so much interested in the M3 as I am in that old Mercedes Benz in the background. Can we get a DOTS Deutschland Edition?
@interloper: Yeah, its a beauty. What year do u think? '59/60?
By the way, lets hijack all threads featuring gray, ubiquitous, modern Teutonic iron!
@Gram's Caddy: @interloper: Thread-jackers!
oh come on, man! another Beemer? And a GRAY one?
It's a good look; I especially like the hood. It should be offered with some outrageously powerful diesel.
As far as i can remember there has never been a bad M BMW
@junkman: You mean the BMW 335 Diesel?
@Gram's Caddy: That looks like the "Found in a Field" Entry at the last Altamont Lemons (I think) - People's Choice Award Winner

Mechanically, these cars are always stunning. Aesthetically, they tend to be quite the opposite.
@Ray Wert: Since when was this new?
Jalopnik, home of A.D.D. car fans alike.
@TexanIdiot25 [Hunting for Lemons]: Just pointin' it out. J'accuse! ;)
@Gram's Caddy: My sentiments exactly. I found the perfect image to sum BMW fans up.
As long as they deBangle it as much as possible it's a win in my book. And @junkman: diesels have almost been forgotten by most of the performance crowd--save for Audi recently, and the many aftermarket tuners of said engines. But you tell me what the "Godzilla GT-R" crowd would think of a full-size Dodge Ram diesel spanking them in the quarter, like this one.

@Ray Wert: BTW Bra-friggin-vo for the ease of placing videos in these threads. Here I am trying all kinds of HTML-fu and "embed this" and what-not and it's so simple my dogs could do it, if they had thumbs. :)
And to keep this on topic, I hate Chris Bangle.
@CeRuLeaNBLu: The BMW 335 diesel has 286 bhp,not exactly slow.
@layabout: Praise Diesel! From what I heard it's 265-hp, 425-lb.ft. torque--but that was back in April. No sir, nothing to sneeze at indeed. It would wipe the floor with the old E46 328i with it's 193-hp I use to drive 9 years ago.
@CeRuLeaNBLu: Not driven one,but a 3 litre twin turbo diesel engine cant be bad.I have read about some people tuning them to over 350 bhp.
@layabout: Which probably means like 700-lb.ft. torque, which is the true measure of a true fast car. Sweet Muhammad that kicks @ss!
@CeRuLeaNBLu: [www.pistonheads.com] Thought this may interest you.
@layabout: Sweet, but it's no

@Joseph: Some of us are eating breakfast. Get that crap out of here. See any other posts like that here?
All I see is a G8 with some tape on it.
I like how now that I'm older I can simultaneously read words/numbers and see a picture/scene and have two registrations for the same item. Scrolling down, my crazy head argued the article read " BMW," but the back of the car appeared as "Civic." I realize it is covered in camo-tape, but the product recognition was not there. As of late, that might be a good indication that BMW styling is in recovery.
It looks like the tail lights are getting closer to those on the coupe. If only the rest of the rear would follow suit.
@Novaload: You don't like the New BM's body?
I like the the vents and bulge in the hood.
Is it me, or do all the M-series cars all seem to have wheels that are too big?
Diesel=Awsome
4.25 a gallon = Not awsome.
Its killing our torquemonster E320 CDI. Still gets low 30s, but expensive diesel is murderous.
@Ray Wert: I've been called many things, but this is a first.
So, how big is this thing? That's what I want to know. Kudos for the de-Bangleization, but, really, how big is it? The current 3-Series looks to me (and no, I haven't measured) like it's about the size of an old 5-Series. So, as BMW moves "forward", is the forthcoming 3-Series going to be the size of a 7-Series? Or maybe a tractor? Yeah, that's it. the next 3-Series will be the size of a Massey-Ferguson tractor, and the next 7-Series will be the size of the oft-mentioned (on Jalopnik anyway) Unimog.
Great. Now only if my condo complex allowed for a wheat field.
