Just received the following text message from Murilee: "[Team Black Metal V8olvo has] gone from 44th place to 19th so far today." Continue following the team's progress along with all our coverage here.

It's all the speed holes. Really.
You know you haven't posted a clear full view of the total V8olvo.
@bozoerrebbe: I noticed this as well, and it's starting to annoy me. I also want to see the porcubimmer.
I think the guys, in retrospect, needed non-participating members of Gawker to handle the coverage.
As the boys on Top Gear say sometimes, it ain't easy to talk and drive at the same time...
@rudolphdude:
No offense to the no doubt massively tired, midnight-oil burning crew. In and of itself it is a massive undertaking.
I blame Gawker Media for giving me my fix before I was done with my last fix.
@rudolphdude: Ladies and gentlemen, please keep things in perspective...! How often do we get so many threads started between close-of-business Friday and dawn Monday? This weekend has been the most interactive on Jalopnik that I can remember for a long time.
Thank you Murilee, Jonny, and all the V8olvo crew. Stay safe (and that includes the travel home!)
@charles_barrett: *lifts his glass* yes! we have wanted weekendliness... and now we have been given it... though slightly tainted with a good amount of sadness.... i am happy to see the # of posts in the last 24 hrs. not drop in to single digits!!
I am an only child...
@charles_barrett : Well spoken, this has been a very fascinating race related weekend. A kind of an emotional elevator, from happy to sad, then happy again.
Again, good luck team V8olvo.
Where are the skulls? We still haven't even seen the skulls.
I keep thinking of "Who Do You Love?" with the line..."got a chimney on top and it's made out of human skulls..."
Who do you love, Baby? Tell me, who do you love?
Oh, and whatever else happens, Murilee & Co. showed they can race with the best of them. Getting in the top 20? Most excellent, under difficult circumstances.
This weekend was a blast. Our Black Metal V8olvo was an awesome car, I had a blast driving it. This team was top notch, and I'm proud to say that my worst fear did not materialize, I didn't kill the car!!! In fact during that last hour on the track I think I may have dished out more punishment that I took, and our car is beat to hell (...uhhh, I mean the frostbitten forests of Sweden).
@rudolphdude: Sorry, there was just no way to do post as much as I wanted while the event was going on- hectic doesn't even begin to describe it, as any sleep-deprived, bleeding-knuckled LeMons vet can tell you. Check in over the next few days to get the whole story.
@DoctorNine: I hope that they can upgrade to junkyard NACA ducts next time.
