A pit bull gets stuck in an engine. How the hell does that happen? Do pit bulls have magical teleportation powers? In any case, since the 60 lb Pit managed to find an elder F150 with the straight six, the challenge to get in there would be less than a new one, but getting out rather than in was the problem. Since the dog was stuck and bored, he did what dogs do — chew on stuff. As a result the trucks unfortunate, but comically gifted Walter Witthoeft, now has a truck which needs a good deal of rewiring. it was probably just trying to put out the cruise control fire
Michael Vick Special Edition F-150? Man Ford, that is low...
with that old inline 6, the truck had more bark than bite. the owner was just trying to even it out a bit.
That truck was most definitely a NOM.
KTHXBYE
Did you notice this is cross-posted on the front page right below?
Good lookin' dog.
Given that it was running around lost/scared/tagless and ended up in a guy's engine compartment, I really doubt the owner's coming back for it. Too bad, b/c pitbulls are last-pick at the shelters.
...I'm working hard to restrain myself here, b/c dog mistreatment/abandonment is my personal crazy-person rant issue.
The look on the dog's face! How you doin'.
/Sopranos accent.
The lighting at the base of the dog's neck seems a bit bright given the surrounding shadows...I'd say this is a Photoshop job.
It took a while, but they've finally come up with a feature to keep cats from napping on your manifold.
To me it looks like one of the Zuel dogs from "Ghostbusters".
@smalleyxb122: Yea trust me the aftermath of that is NOT fun to clean up.
That looks a lot like my old F150. Maybe installing a pitbull would have kept my radiator and steering column from being stolen.
@Mad_Science: Yeah, I liked Cardomain's assertion that it was a Pitt Bull. I'm sure it's a season ticket holder.
What, he couldn't afford a Trunk-Monkey?
Awww.. That looks like my puppy. And being that I have owned a pitbull (nicely called a mixed terrier by the vet in Philly who welcomed the rescue of such a misunderstood animal) for 2 years, I must say that they can get into some pretty tight spaces and are so curious that the get into more trouble than any of my cats that I have at my place in KY.
good thing the dog chewed through all those wires or he would have ended up with a hot dog. Thank you, I will be here all week.
my gramma said she found out she had kittens under the hood of her ford after she started it and she said she heard a sound that resembled the radiator fan going through the hood
Hell of an alarm system.... knock knock, whos there...... Me, I kill u
"Pit Stop" Pitbull... stopped under the hood... get it?
sheesh.
What most likely happened was the dog chased a cat into the engne bay and got stuck while the cat went out the other side.
@skyln95: Your grandmother had kittens? Stop the presses!
The Pit was looking for the Mack bulldog.
@Novaload: key word had. then a 76 ford truck ate them for lunch.
@Wouldpkr: That's actually a very likely scenario. I have a pit myself. An old man now. He's been such a great dog. He used to be tough, now he just sleeps all day. I got him on retirement... big comfy beds, lots of blankets, cooked chicken. He gets spoiled.
@Mad_Science: You and me both brother.
As I current pit-bull owner, I can attest to the amazing predicaments that these dogs can create. You have to laugh--it's either that or cry when you're paying the vet bills. They're reasonably intelligent, and incredibly tenacious. Which has some occasionally funny results.
Ford's just experimenting with the more eco-friendly dog-power option. The pitbull, of course, is bred Ford tough.
That is awesome. Where can I adopt that dog? I usually dislike dogs but this one is too cool!
I can haz brake fluid?
@Mad_Science: Same here. The only time in my life I ever started a fight was because this asswipe neighbor was into beating his dog. I just can't stand that shit.
It's nice to hear so much "be nice to doggies" in this thread. Amazing that we can all agree on something for once.
I suppose that Pit Stop (seriously, if they don't name the dog Pit Stop, I'll be pissed) was trying to demonstrate some of the myriad engineering problems in Ford trucks.
@FrankGrimes: I assume somewhere near Vacaville, CA?
Pit bulls are wonderful dogs, if trained properly. They are generally very attentive to their owners, intelligent, and healthy. However, if not trained properly, these particular terriers become a nightmare.
Sadly, many people who buy them do so only for the macho image. They're generally the sorts of people who should be sticking to spaniels. Or pet rocks.
I once took a cat for a 10 mile ride......that didn't end in catgut all over my Neon. I arrived at my destination, for some reason opened the hood, and woke the cat that was napping peacefully in the tiny bit of space that isn't taken up by engine. It took off never to be seen again.
