Despite the deadline for the really real pictures of the new Ferrari F149 (or Dino, or California GT) being supposedly only days away now, new shots have surfaced showing the true shape of the car. Now we're getting somewhere, we can see the tail end drops off with a very Berlinetta-like gusto and the overall shape reminds of the Maranello, though much smaller. The camo also suggests a fairly large radiator intake and two smaller intakes for something down low below the headlights. Very interesting Ferrari, this small GT thing you're working on has got potential. (h/t to Ard-Jan)

So we have a spy shot of the Californidino GTBi Quattrovalvole sans rear camo without a rear shot?
$33,000 with power windows?
@Lounatic: not camo-less, just without the crazy shooting brake camo from before.
How do we know it is a Ferrari if it doesn't have the Scuderia shields?
Who forgot to black out the lug bolts? Lazy bastards.
It looks like it's been sideswiped and keyed. I hope the production version fixes those problems.
@weatherman:
No, these are just design cues taken from BMW's Flame Surfacing.
It French-Jaguar in the front. Think they can make it weigh less than a Z06? I thought the Flaming surfaced 1 series was smaller and going to be light. Yeah. Right.
Oh, its a test mule...I thought they got one of the James Bond Astons running again
Anyone else see a retractable hard-top in that roofline?
Sexy... Ferrari, you can have my '92 Camaro and current DD, plus whatever is laying in my savings account... I'll take mine in white with black wheels please.
As for the back, let's see. Hmm. I'm betting it'll have 2 sets of round tail lights. The inner-most set will have clear round circles in the middle for the back up lights.
It's the psychic car deducing power, you can thank me later.
@weatherman: That's the new theft protection system.
@j6r: Good question.
I personally think it looks a bit Corvette-ish.
If I were a high-end car manufacturer, I'd dress up a 'Vette in heavy camo, and drive it around the 'Ring and other places, just to keep the masses attention away from my actual projects...
But I'm sneaky that way.
I'm guessing brake/tire vents for those openings beneath the lights?
@weatherman: That's just the So. Cal douche option.
@drewdrawsYOU. Me? No...him.: That's what R&T was saying.
I sincerely hope this isn't flame-surfaced, though. Ferrari should be setting the design standard, not taking cues from elsewhere.
Also, flame surfacing is uglier than my asshole.
Holy shit! Jalop has a new look-at-the-photos device! Nice!
@Jon: I was just kidding since Ferrari owners seem to love big shields on the flanks of their cars. Except you have a point about them being a bit Corvette like.
@Bumblebee: We do?
it's actually the new Focus. jokes on us.
@Bumblebee: Must be like that time we had a new text box.
@Ben Wojdyla: I don't see it either. His computer's on meth. Again.
@Bumblebee: They do?
Looks very 'vette like to me. I hope this doesn't come out with a heavy, trendy folding hard top. Make it a coupe or spyder, but not both.
@Bumblebee: "...uglier than my asshole" Love that line! Is that from where the term "ugly ass" comes? Can't wait to use it on my boss the next time he starts running at the mouth about his Prius on 22s. Ugh.
Oh, yeah, interesting Ferrari, too. Long overdue.
@Bumblebee: Are you talking about the image preview spot, to the left of the comment box?
I'd say the overall shape reminds more of the 206/246 Dino than of anything recent, especially around the rear pillar. Interesting that they captured those proportions in a supposedly front-engined car.
i do believe thats the 599 spyder the dealers have been talking about....and not a "149" , lets not get carried away
I'm with the "Looks Like A Vette" group.
Seriously, if you saw this with no explanation or as a DOTS, what would you say?
@Ben Wojdyla: Yeah. Well, you did, but it's gone now. The image appeared on top of the page, which was thrown into shadow. Where'd it go?
How is this marketably different from the F430 Spyder?
In other news:
Porsche fights back by running over their testing protoytpes in a cayenne.
The rivalry continues.....
but seriously go rennesport, whoo!
@campionelancia:
In THEORY, it'll be smaller, less powerful, lower priced, and shaped more like the Maranello than the Modena.
The jury is still out on if it'll cost $6K-8K a year to maintain it a the dealer.
Yawn. Looks a lot like a Maranello to me.
