Wendelin Wiedeking has got a lot on his plate right now. The CEO of Porsche has got a line of cars selling like hotcakes, a new super sedan around the corner, and is trying to expand their stake in Volkswagen on the side. So when an operating baby monitor was found in his hotel room ahead of his attendance at a meeting of VW's advisory board, we can understand if a little concern was in order. No allegations have been leveled yet, but an investigation is underway and the possibility of corporate espionage is not out of the question. We'll have to see what happens, but something is rotten in Lower Saxony. [AP Story on Yahoo]

Now if he cries about it, we'll ALL know.
A BT baby monitor?
Probably doesn't work anyway, BT have to be one of the world's most inept companies!
Off topic: Anyone else notice that the Jalop website is running like crap on the day the Acura TSX is sponsoring it? It keeps jamming up and taking forever to load, both here at work and at home.
If I had a name like Wendelin Wiedeking, I might need one of those...
@Bumblebee: Just wait until it hits the VTEC. Try scrolling REALLY fast. I know that's not the way people surf the web 99% of the time, but the power is there if you can find it.
If he had the receiving end of the monitor in his room he probably doesn't need to worry. If he had the transmitting end of the monitor in his room maybe he needs to worry. If he's really worried he shouldn't be conducting business in his hotel room.
@Bumblebee: You ain't kidding. What the hell is the Beast from the East doing to my beloved Jalopnik? I imagine it's retaliation for the ho-hum review of the Accord Coupe.
For any of you that participated in the Survey at the end of last week, the TSX ad's are no surprise to me.
Switch to the lexus IS ad's... I think I'd rather look at those anyways.
The baby monitor is the decoy. You place a low-tech easy to find surveillance device in the room. You want it to be found, so they feel that removing it makes the room secure. That way they don't look for the actual bugs.
@Bumblebee: Aparently, the entire NOAA website is being fed through an Acura ad.
Ooo! Ooo! Ve have ze secrets!* Playback now!
"ve (buzzizzle) st ake ze (crazacle) now or else ve (ummmbizzle) next year"
I guess that the ineptitude of using something that doesn't even work for monitoring your kid in this situation hasn't yet crossed their minds.
Paranoid much Wendlin? I'm just sayin'...
*A tip of the placebo hat to Maxxx Mosely for the cool German accent. Zanks!
Apparently something like this was heard over the monitor...
"You are doing a gute job wit zee VW takover."
"Zanks."
@smalleyxb122: hey man... careful with those secrets... if mr. WW reads this site we're all kinda screwed on my advance news of what's going on
This article suggests that Wendel feels his "softer, heavier, uglier" plan for porsche is some sort of secret.
He is more dilusional than I imagined!
@POИTIFF POLAЯ: She needs more of ze punishment I zink.
Mel Gibson left it there. That's how they know when the aliens are talking.
@Bumblebee: Adblock that sucka and performance is improved.
@Bumblebee: The slow, lumbering pace of the site is a celebration of the fact that the new TSX is larger and slower than the car it replaces.
One thing has always puzzled me about this guy.
If I drink Wiedemann Beer, am I supposed to salute or bow when the Wiedeking enters the room?
Yes, even a souse like me worries about protocol.
