The Chinese are continuing to impress us with their stylistic variations on contemporary supercar styling. Unlike the obvious knockoffs, these cars expand on themes established by European designers. One example is the Geely GT, which draws inspiration from the Maybach Exelero while still maintaing its own design. Another example is the Scorpio concept from engineering firm Great Wall China Winner, a.k.a. CH Design. A little Reanult here, a little Ferrari there and maybe a touch of Aston Martin combine to make an attractive shooting brake-style bruiser. Unfortunately, the firm doesn't currently manufacture cars so this is probably just a design study. Sigh...

i'm still not going to drive a chinese car...
Scorpio!
He'll sting you with his dreams of power and wealth,
Beware of
Scorpio!
His twist-and-turn obsessions are his plot to rule the world and his employees' health...
I see quite a bit of Volvo in there, too.
Meh. A Maserati had drunken sex with an RX8. So what?
The new Hong Kong knock-off James Bond movie, "The Krantum of Sowice" has already destroyed 3 of these
I like it.
Of course, you just know it's going to be a cheaped-down Miata...1988 design spec.
No, it resides on a Fiero chassis.
"A little" Ferrari? Please. It is pretty nice looking though. BreadVan2000.
@Chinese Knockoff Bento: tears, down face...
toooooooo funny, mos 'onowable bento
(most honorable)
@spacewalk: That sounds like the name of a low-budget sci-fi flick. Or a Will Ferrell movie.
A little something here, a lot of every other car ever there...whatever, it still looks friggin' great. Love the proportions. Car designers worldwide need to start realizing that people have always loved the 3 feet of bodywork between the end of the front wheelwells and the start of the A-pillar. Freudian theories might account for it, but who's keeping track?
If you don't like it, Eat It! They do.....
I see previous generation Mitsu based Dodge Avenger from the rear...
I see some Alfa Romeo Brera around the midsection, a little Ferrari 599 at the front, a Volvo grille...
In Soviet China, trademark copy you!
lovechild of a ferrari 599 and the toyota volta concept
the rear logo seems kinda jaguar to me.
so this is really a combination of everyone.
If they gave it decent performance and handling and were able to build it in such a way as to not be a rattling death trap I might actually be interested.
@Spasticteapot: That might not be so bad actually. NA1 chassis, 13b engine, 5 or 6sp manual. Would be a fun little car, safety wouldn't be too horrible either, at least as good as a Se7en kit car.
@13thfloorelevator: Yeah, something about the front view is throwing off major RX-8 vibes to me, too. The fender flares, maybe?
Volvo wtf? The tires then? hehe.. Benz SLR rims.
Just remember the "lead paint" years ! As soon as you inquire about directions on the Nav system, I expect to hear Chairman Mao's voice saying(like Arny would)...I'll be bawk !
Ford should be ticked...it looks like everything except a Merkur Scorpio. Dose eritist snobs!
It looks nice... at least the chinese are trying....

This design looks to me as if a Celica, a Scirroco and a 350Z all got together and knocked one out.
I think this design is outstanding. Look how long that nose is. And the breadvan rear end. Athough there is a mishmash of design cues thrown in, this is thoroughly original. The Chinese are definitely making progress. I think they'll be a force to be reckoned with soon.
There's no delicacy to the design, at all. Nothing that interesting either. Inoffensive but far from pretty.
I'll buy one, but only if it has the optional lead paint package. It is however just what they do in China these days, is copy everyone else. I guess in a communist nation people aren't encouraged to invent things or think for themselves as a rule. Just work hard making copies of other stuff. There's simply isn't one design feature not obviously from other cars.
Sure it looks pretty until you notice all the brands its stealing styling from and notice the horrible chinese build quality.
they have been hard at work researching car forums, and have finally created something that can only be classified as "teh sekc"
