Under orders to stop a drunk driver at all costs, police officers in Belarus stopped four civilian cars and ordered them to form a line across the road — acting as a roadblock. As brilliant a plan as this is, it failed to take into consideration that the drunk driver would be crashing into the makeshift barrier, placing six people including a child in harms way. Thankfully, after the inevitable crash, all of the unlucky drivers were fine and the drunk was caught and is now recovering in the hospital. We're wondering if those Belarussian cops were drunk themselves when they came up with this plan. [Russia Today]

Should have used puppies.
I'm actually impressed. I figured they would have made the people get out and form a "Red Rover" line across the road with their hands linked.
Belarus Police Department. Stern...stern, but fair.
That driver was a hoonatic! I can't believe the cops let the passengers stay in the cars!
I suppose common sense does dictate that it's best to endanger the lives of 6 innocent people for that of one criminal.
Ya see what a vodka/crack combo can make people do.
Damn soccer hooligans.
Ahh the logic that can only exist in a former soviet state.... Makes me think it would be something the Klingons would do for fun
wow. you'd think they'd be sensible enough to let the passengers get out of the cars. but, isn't that an old soviet block country?
in the east, they make do with what ever they have at hand...works for me, my car is okay
"In former Soviet Russia...." ahh hell I got nothing...
Somebody needs sell the Belarus PD some stop sticks....
Did the Russians take all the guns with them when they left? And, the cop cars?
"In former Soviet Russia, the drunks make roadblocks for those high on heroin" - nah, too cumbersome
They still don't understand why police didn't build the shield out of their own cars.
Because they didn't want to wreck their own cars, Duh!
So...the cops got tired of running and out of breath? Because if they'd had cars, this doesn't make sense. Oh, wait.
