Works for the whole company:
"______ Reveal Acura ____ To Be ______-Inspired"
I like the shit-eating grin.
The NSX should be mid engined.
Even if they put a four banger in there, it should be mid-engined.
If this lackluster concept is the future of the NSX, then honda is screwed.
Nobody is going to blow 70K on an RX-8 knockoff styled FR coupe. Especially, if Honda being Honda, it comes with 6cyl or less.
If this article is true then Honda is officially irrelevant as of ...............NOW!
Ouch... I'm a die hard Honda fanatic, and I surely can't find any love for that concept.
Wait...Do you mean to tell me that a Japanese car company might actually produce a car that is soulless and uninspirig? And here I thought the Corolla, Solara, Ridgeline, 4Runner, Camry, Etc. were the benchmark for excitement. (Hell, my farts are more exciting than those cars) Sadly, we are well beyond the time when Japanese cars were synonomous with reliability AND fun.
That dastardly GT-R is mating with the Tiburon again.
@LuciferV8: I think it is supposed to have a V10.
I don't read Japanese too well, but I think the text says "Here's something one of our interns pulled out of his ass between reading hentai on the subway and rooting for the Osaka tigers. Go to town damning Honda to hell." Arigato.
I believe it is a bit too late for the NSX successor. If it was introduce couple of years earlier then it would be OK, but we won't be seeing the new NSX for at least next 2-3 years. The competition is too fierce and if the global economy goes into recession Honda won't be selling much of these cars anyway because they will probably be too expensive. And between Ferrari (or Maserati) and Acura/Honda I doubt there will be many people heading to Honda's dealership. Deja vu? Yes, "only" about 18000 NSX's sold in 15 years! And Ferraris are not so crappy like in the '80s.
I don't think Honda wants that to happen again.
I would personally rather want them manufacture some sort of Lotus Elise/Exige knock-off with their 4 cylinder engine. Fuck! Why not buy Lotus in the first place?! Honda's engine and Lotus' chassis and suspension in a lightweight and "cheap" package. Could it be any better? (Yes, but we are not talking about Ariel right now :)
This way they could make profit selling shopping trolleys and still be faithful to Soichiro's philosophy (and Colin Chapman's). The Power of Dreams all the way!
Those headlights are straight off of the new Mazda 6. There is ZERO chance this will look even remotely like the next NSX. One of these japanese magazines puts out what they thing the new NSX or S2000 or 350Z will look like every month. I was happy that Jalopnik was smart enough not to grasp at each one every time they pop up online.
I'm thinking that's the new stretched Mercury Cougar.
Considering that this comes from Best Car and doesn't seem to relate to any contemporary Honda design theme, I'm guessing that this probably isn't the best guide to what it'll look like. I'm agreeing with Ben, if that isn't clear.
@b33g33: Nice!
looks more like it is influenced by the Scaglietti.
