Not doing anything in the beginning of April? Want to see James Glickenhaus' Pininfarina-designed Ferrari P4/5? Feel like going to Bahrain? Now's your chance to scratch all those itches at once. Glickenhaus is heading to the U.A.E. for the 2008 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix on April 4th-6th. It's an event we're told will "play host to a mouth-watering array of machinery celebrating Ferrari's sixty years as a constructor of Formula One and sports racing cars." And oh yes, he's bringing his P4/5.

Hopefully he'll get as warm a welcome as this a-hole:
Glickenhaus posts on a couple of racing sites. He genuinely seems a pretty decent guy, although an insanely rich one.
I thought the P4/5 was built upon the Enzo Ferrari and not the 612? Maybe I've gotten myself confused.
it is based off an Enzo
@yellofury: That's what I get for copying and pasting from an old Spinelli post.
fugly car
Oh sure whatever, it's okay but it's not that great. Sigh. I can't even imagine. I'd lose it if a woman even stood next to my car like that. I'd stroke out if I had the car.
Neither one of them needs to be particularly attractive, by the way. Just because you can, I guess.
Great headlights, chubby cheeks and a hint of a smile--what a winsome car that is. I wonder how much it costs?
@Novaload: It was something like $2.4 mil If I remember right. I also heard he actually drives it... if that's true, good man.
Ill go gather my frequent-flyer miles. . .and my life savings

Make up your mind, is it the U.A.E or Bahrain?
I ought to take it as a photography opportunity.
Any idea how much that car is worth?
It was fun seeing hte car in prototype, then the build process, then the real deal. Yes, Jim dirves it, as well as other old Feraris he owns, an old Lola Le Mans car, and a Ford J-car. What's the point of owning them if you don't drive them?
Really down to earth guy who owns his old cars for all the right reasons - to put them back the way they were built, and use them for why they were built. Same philosophy with P4/5. It's fun to go to car shows with him and he won't even let the road dirt get brushed out of the vents and ground effects.
That is one very nice car.
@gadgetfanatic: priceless. Or four million, whichever comes first.
Does this car have its own agent? Travel, celebrity appearances, photography? It's a busy vehicle. In fact, it's pretty impressive that he has NOT pimped it out for commercial endorsements. A tire manufacturer here, a motor oil company there. He could make a few mill back pretty quickly.
Or maybe Ferrari forbids it...?
So, I wonder how much it costs to fly a Ferrari first class to Bahrain?
And God Bless a guy who has the money, buys toys, and uses them properly. No garage-queen sissies for James!
I met JG at Lime Rock last Sept. Great guy and totally into cars.
I'll admit it. I'm just jealous that I don't have the money to commission a custom car from Pininfarina.
BTW, I think the P 4/5 may be at the Lime Rock Vintage this year for the Sunday car show. But don't quote me on that.
Bahrain GP.
P 4/5 will be at Quail this August possibly Lime Rock.
Dino Competizione will also be in Bahrain as will a number of other Great Ferrari's.
Best
Bahrain is a country and not part of the UAE. Cmon guys its simple geography....
