DAFamino. Ladamino. Continentalero. Cubepage. For years now, we've had a disturbing obsession healthy fascination for cars with truck beds, be they factory models or duct-tape-and-Pabst backyard jobs. So, in honor of the newly-revealed Pontiac G8 El Camino and today's El Camino craziness, we've gone and put together a poll with most of the truckcars we've seen here so far, in chronological order and preserving the original names as posted (even when they may conflict with our not-very-rigidly-enforced naming convention). We wanted to let you choose from every single one, but the hamsters that run our servers started behaving rather strangely once the poll got past 100 choices. Make the jump, vote away!

There are far too many to choose from and I refuse to endorse any of them. Good day, sirs.
vote early, vote often
Wow and I thought I had a slow day with nothing to do at work today - quite a feat to find all those, I do declare!
It was a tough choice between the M5 ute and the 240chero... I want to vote twice.
The Chargepage: [jalopnik.com]
Just because I found it... lol
so many choices! Had to go with the tandem axle Lincoln. Id haul in style with that thing
My neighbor had a real el camino SS, white with black rally stripes, with a 396 tri duce that was cherry.
He never took the thing out. I wonder how much that thing is worth?
Ever so sorry I've been away for this most momentous of days. I won't make a habit of it.
Where is the Porsche 928amino in your list?
For the win. To me, this beast is so comprehensibly bitchin' it seems that Mr Porsche always intended the 928 to be a six-wheeled beer-carrier par excellence.... And the 4-wheeled coupe version was just an incidental study to pay the bills.
I require a 928amino in my life.
I have realised that all the issues I face on a daily basis, all my personality traits, all those little problems i have blamed on upbringing, breeding, education and plain luck, all of these stem from the absence of a 928amino in my life.
I offer myself for redemption.
Talk about sensory overload.
I think this comes down between the SMamino and the Threeamino Dually, I voted for the BMW.
We are partial to the -caminoization/-cheroization mashup of actual El Camino or Ranchero with corporate sibling cross platform body work.
Things like the Cyclonechero, the El Grandnatimino, the El 422, and the The X-Camino just look right and proper compared to the half arsed Bubba with power tools approach to "-caminozation" since proper parts and maybe even concessions to things like driveability and safety have been made. Plus it is sort of like playing what if.
The sheer volume boggles the mind. And the cool factor is off the charts. Since I can't vote for them all, I shall abstain so as not to denigrate any of these fine choices.
Too many choices, you should have laid it out NCAA-bracket style.
#1 Seeds would have to to be the SM, '60 Caddie, the Lincolnchero and maybe the 5-Seriesamino.
While I was seriously torn (Threeamino Dually? Why not!?) I had to go with El 442. With a "boceephus" sticker on it.
@no_slushbox: Same here. After all, if E30s are good, crew cab dually E30s must be better, right?
Where's the 429 Cobra Jet Ranchero Squire? I had to go with the GSXamino instead.
I voted for the Corvair-amino after much soul-searching and deliberation, really only because I spent 3 of my younger years in Corvair Project Car Hell. What we should really do is use the official point scale to determine how Jalopnik each of these Caminos are, and rate them that way - though I think all qualify as off the charts. The Vair-amino rates a terrific 324 points!
These should be divided into categories.
Domestic
Foreign
Malaise
RWD
FWD
AWD
-and so on
Enough with the damn 'mino designation!
The Ranchero was issued before the El Camino, and thus lays claim to all naming rights!
It was a difficult choice between the GSXamino and the '60 Caddy, but in the end, I couldn't argue with the bedfins.
@Rust-MyEnemy: I'm with Rusty; 3 axles beats two, and the Rabbit and Lincoln cannot compare to the 928amino.
Seems to me there was a Vette-amino in there somewhere. Forget the others: That'd be my pick.
Really, really tough choice, but I went with the 442. It looks so...plausible.
I went with the Buick GSX, but the one I don't see here (and it was never posted) is the GNXamino. (they're both G body cars) I saw a beautiful black one at Carlisle some years ago and it was for sale.
What's so cool about a retarded looking pickup truck from America?
Count me in with Chuck & Rusty; that 928amino was hot.
Here's that VetteCamino, but it seems all the photos are stuck in teh interwebs.
GOAT!
My bad - it's the second one - very nice
Too many...can't think...too much badassity.
Citroën SMamimo all the way, bien sur!
Way too many, from Czech minimalism to Mulletamino. I had to go with my heart. I voted for the Eagle that never was. The Grempage/Hornetamino.
There are a few great contenders, with the '60 Caddy and Kaiser really up there. But my overwhelming love of anything Edsel ended up winning me over.
Homer, you're overstimulated. Let's get some beer in you and get you right to bed!!
I love the E39, and it's the clear front-runner (at like 15%), but it I'm going with the Crownamino.
I've had a soft spot for the VW Rabbit pickups, and the Crownamino seems like a Toyota version thereof (ie, you'd actually want to own it).
That would be Karl Middlehauve's Mercedes Benz 600 based "El Benzo"

@bizzychris: It's basically the polar opposite of a Lexus.
Where the heck is my MetroMino? I spent a whole day on that project...come on...respect.
So many to choose from, and yet I'm writing in the E55amino that lives across the street. You read that correctly: E55AMINO! I'll get pictures next time it's out of the garage.
Why haven't you covered a Lotus Europachero? They were just about made with a truck bed.
I was going to vote for the LIAZamino, but I love the Peugeot-Dangel 504 too. I abstain.
By the way, the Sierrachero and Cortinachero were production models called P100s.
@Scroggzilla: I thought it was black - at least it was when he showed me the pictures in Germany or maybe it was the herse.
Write in candidate:

@Euromobile: The Basildon street racing scene in the mid '90s played host to a number of P100s with Cosworth engine transplants.
Most of them were iridescent purple.
Essex is amazing.
Jihad on the selection, I proudly submit the Jaguaramino [bp1.blogger.com]
Who wouldn't love English electrical gremlins with a touch of American practicality?
Checkermino
The Corvairamino rocks my socks, along with several other articles of clothing. It just looks so right, even if it makes so little sense. Plus, if you want to go for the mid-engine V8 swap, this one's got a firewall.
@Triborough:
Agreed. I was going to vote for the Edchero, but the example above looks like it was made from a cut up station wagon, rather than bolting an Edsel front end onto a '57/'58 Ranchero. So make mine the Cyclonechero.
@Rust-MyEnemy: Fantastic!
I must admit, I used to think it'd be a laugh to convert a P100 to full Cosworth-spec, but in stock form; as if it had come from the factory that way.
I love how even with ~50 options, there are still a ton of write-in candidates.
@HAPPY SAINT POLAЯ'S DAY: Wow. This is what the Joad family would drive from California to Oklahoma after losing their Central Valley ranch in the great mortgage finance debacle of 2008. Dust storms to follow...
@charles_barrett: I'm not sure what the hell it is, but it comes complete with
Oscar the Grouch and its own refuelling station!
And you can't beat that!
