What's that? You're wondering if the production version of the newly-revealed Pontiac G8 El Camino is functional? Well here's the proof: exclusive, raw, uncut video of the G8 sport truck in action from our exclusive, raw, uncut photo shoot with the new ute. We suggested they do a nice smoky burnout for the photo shoot, but seeing as they'd literally just attached the hood to the production prototype for the first time mere hours ago, they were having none of that. Maybe they're saving the rubber for doing donuts on the New York Auto Show floor? Our guess is probably not, but it sure is nice seeing a prototype that isn't being pushed around by men in white gloves. Just listen to that 6.0-liter V8 purr.

Go-Jacks would have nice
Needs more throttle.
El Camino - ZERO Tolerance still in effect.
Hire me.
That is all.
I want mine with a hard tray cover and HSV wheels.
kthx
Needs more mullets.
OK it rolls under its own power, that's good enough for me.
This is the first thing GM has come up with in at least 30 years that has made me think, I Gotta Have That.
However I'm guessing it won't be the vehicle to schlep my snowmobile around in.
If this El Camino-athon keeps up it may adversely affect page views and advertising revenue...
@B:
Do you have your subscription for Australia's Highest selling magazine??
Must be all the UTES!?!?!
I was waiting for him to spin into some donuts, but i was dissapointed.
OHMY WORD ohhghghgh
The stat up is about as evil and deep idling as my CST/10.
NEEDS LESS MUFFLER..
This is the stuff I do for a living. I'm a photographer/photo-assistant. I've driven all kinds of vehicles in studios. People ask me, they say "Jason, what's your favorite part of your job?" My answer is always the same, "Driving cars in buildings.".
Love the supercharger whine.
Whoops.... shouldn't have said that.....
@sliderule:
Meh, if she's a runner there's no need to break out the go-jacks, especially nowadays that a pristinely painted cove isn't as important.
@Mark Arnold:
And the loping sound of a solid-lifter Duntov cam!
@HAPPY SAINT POLAЯ'S DAY: the more you post about how they should hire you, the more I hope they don't. nothing personal, promise. it is just annoying, and seemingly antithetical to what I have come to expect from jalopnik.
Grand Am-A-Mino.
@highlandmiata: As juvenile as it may be dropping a little hint here or there, I don't believe I'm causing harm to anyone. I have no ill will towards anyone here and if I have disgraced or soiled the quality of Jalopnik in any way I ask for your forgiveness.
This is as good a place as any to say that I'm not nearly as excited 'bout this as y'all are, but I like the Jalops in general, so I went and voted El Camino for ya'.
heh, wouldn't it be funny if I was the one to win it?
I'd run a reserve (to the highest Jalopnik bidder) auction for ya'
I want to see this car do doughnuts.
That's how they should have turned the thing around.
add some Flowmasters and you got some niiiice sounds
Nice looking El Camino. That's the only name I will acknowledge for that car/truck.
Mmm that V8 purr just let me forget about all of my stresses for this week for a few hours... Delicious.
@HAPPY SAINT POLAЯ'S DAY: Hired, There's your desk, see you on Monday.
