Autobild seems to have gotten their mitts on a picture of the new and improved Audi A3. We're not certain about the details of this new A3 and without the ability to see the all-important cargo area we can't actually confirm it is the A3. We can see that the new A3 gets the LED-accented headlights spreading across the Audi lineup. It also looks like the headlights and grille get slimmed down from the gaping maw we're used to seeing. More importantly the Deutsch-bags at GermanCarBlog even tell us to expect a notchback version. Theres a zoomed-in view of the sneaky leaking below the fold.

Wird to your mother.
Now with eyelashes that light up!
I like it better than the current A3, which is a great car by the way. can't wait to meet in real person.
@POLAЯ - EDITOЯ WANNABE: Is it just me, or do those 'eyelashes' look angry and somehow sinister: "You... in the cross-walk...! Out'a my fuckin' way you puny meat-puppet... schnell...!"
No way, I refuse to believe that Audi's gonna make a car with eyebrows. I call foul Autobild.
@charles_barrett: Yeah, it's kinda like an angry wife,
with her disapproving look and big mouth hanging wide open!
Take my word for it
@POLAЯ - EDITOЯ WANNABE: I believe that's call "the death stare"
@POLAЯ - EDITOЯ WANNABE: Oh, I believe you... ditto for angry husbands ('tho I suspect I'm the bigger jackass... my Mom always sides with Randy, and scolds ME for being a jerk...!)
Will it wink?
The Audi A3 Mae West edition?
@Ben Wojdyla: First your Droid/Robot knowledge from earlier [jalopnik.com],
and now the death stare. So, does the A3 have a Superlaser Focus Lens?
@charles_barrett: Mom knows best, ya know.
Wow, ausgabe auch ohne DVD fur 1,30 Euro! Sweet deal.
Looks like Photoshop to these semi-trained eyes.
Even so, will the notchback sedan be, by definition and the Fundamental Laws of Platform Prostitution (FLoPP), a Jetta for rich kids?
looks like a photoillustration to me, see stuff like this all the time and then ,"whoops!", the car looks completly different from the so called "spyshot".
whenever i here notchback i think mustang....
Isn't AutoBild pretty much just like the "newspaper" Bild? Which is like the New York Post meets the Weekly World News. Blah blah blah Bush sucks here's some tits!
Artists rendering to sell copies. I'd say it's nothing more.
@ash78: i'm still waiting for the second part of this equation.
it looks like a pig in eye shadow.
@ash78: It's also a "sister" publication to Auto-Express here in the UK (so we'll propably get the "new" A3 next week) and they are always passing off made-up photoshop jobs as "exclusive first looks" at new cars. Strangely when the new cars do surface they're often quite different from Auto Express/Bild's renderings
@rognbrow: Ahhh, ok. I've read Auto Express quite a few times, didn't know there was a connection.
The major US publications often do this kind of thing, too, and the fact that it's an artist impression is usually hidden somewhere in a tiny caption or footnote. I can't think of any other industry magaine that gets away with it so frequently...
I thought the A4 was already a Jetta for rich kids.
And I still don't like the production 'Rocco. :( Although I like it even less since we're not getting it. >:(
@Ben Wojdyla: It looks more like "I'm so over it" face. It's like the new A3 just found out that Adam Sandler is making another movie.
Autobild usually uses Huckfeldt for their illustrations (and a lot of the US/world mags buy those after the fact, or commission Huckfeldt to do new ones, or...). They didn't "just get their hands on it." They do this sort of shit all the time, and their illos usually are about half production, half pie-in-the-sky hole-filling. Try getting educated, Wojdyla, and get off yer ass and read once in a while.
@Skipnuts: What kind of a word is "yer?" Spell much?
Woo! Threatened by the man who crashed an Audi! Shakin' in my boots!
Slang, Wert. Slang. Write in the vernacular much?
Incidentally, I learnt it from Wojdyla: "We're not going to go braggin' er nothin'"...
